Best Women’s All Mountain Snowboards 2019-2020

Chosen by the Whitelines Test Team

UPDATE: Check out our review of the Best Women’s Snowboards for 2020/2021 by clicking here.

As much as we’d all like to have a snowboard for every occasion, the majority of us haven’t got the space/cash/need to own an entire fleet. So rather than sit and lament our misfortune, we buck up and go on the hunt for an all-mountain snowboard. Your daily driver, your quiver killer, your all-terrain vehicle, as it were. A snowboard you can take anywhere on the hill. Go and get your slash on in a powder bowl in the morning, and then boost sidehits on your way to session the park in the afternoon.

“There’s no exact specification as to what an all-mountain snowboard has to be”

What exactly constitutes an all-mountain snowboard? There’s no exact specification as to what an all-mountain snowboard has to be, because like with most things in snowboarding it’s all very personal. Most boards within the category are slightly more geared towards a certain activity, but they’ll be able to handle whatever you throw their way. Some boards might be classified a particular way, but the attributes they have make them viable for other areas as well.

If you’re looking for one board to do it all, then look no further. Every snowboard in this list has our Test Team seal of approval. These are the boards that performed in every area we took them in, and their versatility made an impression on us.

Capita The Equalizer Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

PRICE: £440 / €480

“This board is for the girl who wants to ride everything and ride it well. The girl who doesn’t want to be pigeon-holed into being one type of rider.”- Jess Kimura.

With a mid-body camber, flat tail and reverse cambered nose the Equalizer allows for both pop and stability. The nose extends further on while the tail becomes blunt, which makes for a perfect powdery float. And not to startle the jibbers out there, riding switch on this beauty is still an absolute doddle.

    Bataleon Distortia Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £389 / €450

Despite having a freestyle focus, our Test Team can attest to the fact that the Distortia rips shit up all over the mountain. The full camber profile keeps it lively and aggressive on piste, whilst the 3BT offers crazy float in powder and will have you progressing crazy fast in the park.

Gnu Pro Choice Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £510 / €570

The Pro Choice is another board that finds its home in between the park ropes, but again, it’s got the chops to ride whatever terrain you throw its way. The versatile hybrid profile means you’re not confined to any one type of riding, and the asymmetry and magnetraction mean you can roll with the big dogs when you take it onto the courderoy.

The Everything provides an easy and versatile ride along with all of the necessary tools, not just to get your snowboarding journey started, but to take it up to a confident all-mountain level.

    Lib Tech No. 43 Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £490 / €550

Part of the new women’s collection, the No. 43 is an all-mountain destroyer, and one that packs some serious horsepower. The combination of tri and biax fibreglass layers result in a board with all the response and support you need for charging, with enough ‘press-ability’ and forgiveness to still have fun when you want to take your foot off the gas.

    Ride Psychocandy Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £445 / €500

The Psychocandy is a all-mountain charger with a tapered directional shape, a flat profile with rocker in the tip and tail. The flat section translates to stability on piste and a long and uniform effective edge, whilst the rocker loosens it up and bit for freestyle and offers extra float in the powder.

    Rome Lo-Fi Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £420 / €490

Built with a hybrid modern camrock profile, the Lo-Fi has got the sauce to tear up the whole mountain with no dramas. Small sections of rocker outside the contact points give the board smoother turn initiation and make it less likely to catch an edge as the snow starts getting cruddy (ride faster and harder without having to worry).

    Salomon Gypsy Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £410

This is first and foremost a park board. However, the camrock profile, or rock out camber as Salomon likes to call it, makes the Gypsy a very versatile board. The rockered nose and tail offer more float when the snow gets deeper, and the cambered body ensures a smooth pressure down your effective edge on piste.

    Bataleon Feelbetter Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £369/ €4300

Bataleon Push Up Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £399/ €470

A slighty narrower middle section to some of the other Bataleon offerings means the Push Up is more manoeuvrable and nimble in and out of turns. Like most Bataleon boards, it’s way more versatile than you’d think thanks to it’s combination of positive camber and Triple Base Technology. A real All-Terrain Vehicle.

    Burton Feelgood Women’s Snowboard 2019-2020

    PRICE: £480/ €550

Thanks to the stiff flex and camber profile, you’ll get plenty of pop with this board. In addition to the profile and flex, we’ve also got the triaxial fiberglass and ultralight carbon backbone to thank for the increased snap. This specific fiberglass-backbone combination provides pop, power, a versatile flex and consistent response.

    Good Prima 2019-2020

    PRICE: €559

Despite being a directional snowboard, it still retains a twin outline, so will feel balanced and responsive whichever way you point it. The bigger talking point here is the full camber. Though it’s not the most forgiving in nature, the classic bend remains the gold standard for delivering maximum pop, power, and response.

    K2 Cold Shoulder 2019-2020

    PRICE: £400/ €450

This is a board that wants to take the tired old ‘all mountain’ title, flip it on its head, sink a pint and shred straight out the door. The tip to tail stringers keep the boards torsional flex and allow you to pedal turn, and really bone out grabs. The slight taper promotes easy float in the deeper snow and the long effective edge keep you ripping and gripping.

    K2 Outline 2019-2020

    PRICE: £420/ €470

Mostly flat, with early rise rocker in the nose and tail, the Outline has bags of stability and a really loose, mellow feel. The added stability is also ideal for laying into your carves and feeling confident that your edge is going to hold when you’re flat out. Still playful enough that you’d feel right at home cruising through the park and getting those presses down pat.

    Salomon Wonder 2019-2020

    PRICE: £350

The medium flex makes sure you’ll get the best of both worlds. This board is just soft enough to load the tail for an ollie but stiff enough to give you a good edge hold. The Wonder is as responsive as it is jibbable. Add the directional twin shape, another great characteristic of any all-mountain board, and you can be sure to feel stable while riding regular or switch.

    Slash Happy Place 2019-2020

    PRICE: £345/ €399

The camrock profile helps to keep the ride nice and balanced, delivering enough pop and response in-between the feet, with a looser, more forgiving feel outside the inserts with the tip and tail rocker. The poplar core is also enhanced with the addition of beech hardwood stringers along the inserts and spruce strips, both of which increase power transfer between the edges and maximise pop along the length.

    PRICE: £359 / €400

The camrock profile is a nice best of both worlds approach, with the camber delivering pop and response on piste. The rocker in the nose and tail makes the board a little mellower, by reducing the chance of catching an edge, and helps it to float a bit easier when the snow gets deeper.

    YES Hel 2019-2020

    PRICE: £439

A cambered section between the bindings keeps it poppy and dynamic through the turns, and helps you drive with your back leg when riding piste. Definitely not a board for beginner riders, it’ll take you for a ride if you’re not able to handle it properly. It’s got a mid-stiff and predictable flex so perfect for plowing through slush or crud but still soft enough in the nose and tail that you can have a little play around if you want to.
