Why we chose the Head Everything Snowboard: The best value snowboard… ever?

If you wake up and can’t decide whether you want to be a park shredder, an off-piste ripper, a groomer gobbler, or just someone who doesn’t want to spend half their day sliding down the mountain on their backside, then you should look towards the Everything women’s board.

While it isn’t packed with some of the space-age technology you might come to associate with the brand, Head have created an easy-to-control ride that will help riders looking to progress across every area of their riding on whatever terrain the mountain throws at them.

Suited best towards those snowboarders just getting started on the journey, the Everything uses Head’s new LYT Technology Graphene and Super Light Balsa Wood core to create a featherweight board – enabling you to ride for longer and save some energy when exploring the resort.

The softer flex and hybrid camber provide a playful, forgiving ride that won’t feel too catchy or demanding on those days when your legs are starting to give up. But it still allows for all the grip, pop, float and manoeuvrability, whether you’re taking this board into the park or backcountry for its first day or fifth season.

The extruded base of the board won’t provide the speediest of descents down the mountain, but it keeps the price down and will make an easier and cheaper repair should you hit any of those pesky rocks. It’s a more mellow feel for when you’re still getting to grips with going full gas, as the board won’t start running away with you.

The Everything provides an easy and versatile ride along with all of the necessary tools, not just to get your snowboarding journey started, but to take it up to a confident all-mountain level. Despite its ability to provide an easy-going cruise for those less confident, it’s not a ‘beginner board’ that you’ll find yourself growing out of in the first week.

It’s got the chops to grow with you and will have your back until you’re looking to get a more specialised board. Those riders looking for something to hold up to bigger lines, heavier knuckles and harder charging days may be better off turning towards something with a little more bite.

Tester’s Verdict

Holly BurnsSnowboard Instructor

“I was a bit hesitant to get on this board, but only because I had only really ever associated Head with skis. As soon as I saw it, I had a good feeling – it just looks like a sturdy and dependable bit of kit.

I took it out initially late in the day when the piste was all chewed up and was pleasantly surprised at how manoeuvrable the Everything was. Very quick and easy in and out of the turns. It’s very lightweight and easy to spin on. It feels like a board that wants you to be dynamic on it. It’s happy to be mellow when you’re taking it easy, but will open up when you push it.

“When I found out the price I was gobsmacked. This is one of the most capable snowboards I strapped into this season, and it costs less than three beers in a Swiss Ski Resort!”

The next day was a dreaded ‘dust on crust’ kind of morning, and the slopes were sketchy and nasty. I half expected to give this a bit of an up and down and then leave but actually felt very secure on this board despite the snow conditions. The asymmetric heel edge made me feel very secure and seemed to want to hold its edge for as long as you wanted it to.

I can definitely see myself teaching on this board, as it’s so versatile. When I found out the price I was gobsmacked. This is one of the most capable snowboards I strapped into this season, and it costs less than three beers in a Swiss Ski Resort!”

Trade Secrets

Katharina Acham – Jr. Marketing Manager, Head

“As the name indicates, this board has it all. The EVERYTHING LYT is the ideal board if you already have gained some riding experience and are now looking for “the one for all”.
It offers support and grip both on- and off-piste. Its Hybrid Camber Construction DCT 2.0 delivers four added contact points with the snow, paired with a longer effective backside edge.
This assures a perfect position, resulting in optimized control also in icy conditions, which makes carving easy. But at the same time its soft flex and very low weight in tip and tail make it playful and easy to turn in deep snow.”

Sina Candrian – Team Rider, Head

“The EVERTHING LYT is the perfect board for a powerful girl. It’s an amazing carving board – you will be faster than every boy on the slope! At the same time, it is super versatile and fun for slopestyle action, as it allows you to pop some high ollies. In my opinion, the design definitely scores because it’s timeless, simple and modern looking.”
