The Gandalf the Grey of the backcountry world, Jeremy Jones set up his own snowboard company after his long time split with Rossignol back in 2009. Designed and produced by the team at the Nidecker factory in Switzerland, the snowboards have become the quiver of choice for the split-boarding high-end powder pursuers of the 21st century.
Every single model of their boards has a split-board option with the needs of the backcountry mountaineer built in at every stage meaning the boards are built for the stresses of chutes, gulley’s and ravines.
Jeremy tested the whole range during his two year project with Teton Gravity Research which culminated in ‘Further’. He travelled around the globe from India to Norway finding the steepest and deepest terrain known to man, a Jones snowboard obviously his weapon of choice.
Recently, he and the team have been out in Chile ‘testing’ the new product for the season. A summer of hiking lines and rooster tails doesn’t sound like an awful summer holiday does it?
However, with Slash, YES Snowboards and A+ all run by pro’s with a backcountry focus, it’ll be interesting to see how Jones Snowboards fair this year. In line with Jeremy’s environmental warrior status, all Jones Snowboards are made with ecological materials and manufacturing processes meaning Jeremy can still shred the steep and deep for years to come.
