For riders who want an easy going, cruisy board to build up confidence and allow for heaps of progression the Emoticon is a solid contender.
Built around a twin shape, it’s perfect for nailing that switch riding, and for getting those spins down with an easy ride away. The twin flex will make for predictable riding, and gives a more standard feel to the board.
“The distortion of the edge profile increases pressure where you need it for smoother turns, and better edge hold”

The camrock profile is a nice best of both worlds approach, with the camber delivering pop and response on piste. The rocker in the nose and tail makes the board a little mellower, by reducing the chance of catching an edge, and helps it to float a bit easier when the snow gets deeper.
One of the most innovative and successful ideas in snowboarding today, the Emoticon uses Yes’ signature UnderBite edge profile. They pull the edge in on either side of the board directly beside the bindings, this splits the edge into 3 distinct sections. Each section is responsible for an area of the turn- initiation, hold, and release. The distortion of the edge profile increases pressure where you need it for smoother turns, and better edge hold.
While being a softer flexing board, the Emoticon is no noodle. It’s solid enough for when you want to go charging round the mountain, but mellow enough that it won’t kick your arse when you just want a gentle cruise.
The extruded base will make sure the board doesn’t run away with you and is easy to repair if it gets scratched or gouged. Definitely a more easy going option than the YES Hel, but don’t be fooled by its gentle nature, the Emoticon can handle the whole mountain.
