The Salomon Wonder is another wonderful part of Salomon’s lady line. This wonderchild has been around for quite a while and as the world around it changes, so the snowboard must sometimes change too….

Not to worry though, the board hasn’t changed too much, and ladies who already love the Wonder shouldn’t feel the need to wander off to find another go-to board. The main difference is that the Rocker-Camber-Rocker profile has been replaced by a slightly more stable version.

“Whether you want to improve your switch, carves or park performance this is a solid choice”

A flat part has been placed in between the feet which will make it nice and stable. You’ll still feel that the camber is there to give you pop and energy. The rocker section at both ends are still in place, so no need to fret about losing that floaty feel.

The medium flex makes sure you’ll get the best of both worlds. This board is just soft enough to load the tail for an ollie but stiff enough to give you a good edge hold. The Wonder is as responsive as it is jibbable. Add the directional twin shape, another great characteristic of any all-mountain board, and you can be sure to feel stable while riding regular or switch.

This is a great choice for any lady who already feels comfortable with her turns but wants to increase her riding confidence. Whether you want to improve your switch, carves or park performance this is a solid choice. The Salomon Wonder is an all-rounder that serves up a mellow ride, one which allows you to have a sweet time enhancing your skills on a board.

Tester’s Verdict

Joy DutchWhitelines

“The Wonder is one of the most predictable boards I’ve ridden. It always performs precisely as you want it to, and there’s never a sudden case of the board plaining off or running away with you.

“As a board to ride all over the mountain then it’s a good option at a really good price”

On piste it was stable when picking up speed although it did feel a bit heavy at times (to be fair, this could be attributed to tired legs after a long week). Edge to edge it wasn’t the fastest board, but it was still able to lay down turns pretty well. The slight early rise in the nose and tail kept turn initiations nice and smooth, and provided a little extra float when off the piste.

If you’re looking to spend the majority of your time in the park, this isn’t the board for you. However, as a board to ride all over the mountain with it’s a good option at a really good price.”

Tester’s Verdict 2018/19

“It’s no wonder why this board is always so popular – it’s ridiculously forgiving and easy to ride. It felt like a true all-mountain board and it was a lovely board for all situations.

The slight lift in the nose and tail kept it feeling really smooth in and out of turns and made it just a bit easier going all over. I liked the flex of it, and it kept it feeling really fun to muck around on on piste with as well.

“It felt really nimble and quick between the trees off the side of the piste. It held its edge really well too”

The Wonder was a nice option for the little bit of powder that we had, and felt really nimble and quick between the trees off the side of the piste. It held its edge really well, and was a perfect confidence-booster to stop those wobbles.

A great option for someone who wants a really mellow board that’s gonna keep building up their skill sets.”
