Riders looking for a solid all mountain board, look no further. The Twin Sister is a versatile mountain slayer with enough juice to be able to take on any and all conditions.

The twin shape and flex keep it playful and able to razz through the park, but the directional volume of the board allows for premium piste and powder performances. The slight setback inserts keep your weight over the tail of the board keeping the nose from submarining as you’re playing in the deep stuff.

“Traction bumps down the edges keep you gripping even when the conditions get sketchy, making this board a true machine”

A hybrid camrock profile keeps the board from limiting you to one type of riding and instead lets you explore the whole mountain. The camber section makes the board poppy and stable when riding groomers and playing around on piste. The rocker in the tip and tail makes it a bit easier going, a bit less catchy and delivers you some extra float in the powder.

It’s stiffer than a pure jib board but has a soft enough flex to keep you jumping and pressing round the mountain when you want to. Like all good all mountain boards it’s stiff enough to be able to carve and slash and be able to respond quickly both on and off piste.

The high-end sintered base will shoot you to the front of the pack with relative ease, and will stay sliding even when you’re not keeping on top of the servicing. Traction bumps along the edges keep you gripping even when the conditions get sketchy, making this board a true machine.

Tester’s Verdict

Joy DutchWhitelines

“The Twin Sister is a consistent and predictable snowboard, catering to the masses with its middle of the road flex and directional twin shape. The CamRock profile is ideal, and you could feel the pop and the liveliness on piste, and the easier float in powder.

“I liked that it was soft enough to play on, and you didn’t have to really throw your weight to get it onto its edge”

I found it able to handle most conditions quite easily, but like any all mountain board, it’ll get beaten by a niche board in its own area. I liked that it was soft enough to play on, and you didn’t have to really throw your weight to get it onto its edge.

It was dependable on piste, and wanted to be taken for a ride, it seemed a little sluggish at slower speeds but when you accelerated it came into its own. The edge hold was good and although I did slip out once that was sheet ice that I hadn’t spotted until I was on it.

If you’re much more focused on riding powder, I’d stick to the Dreamcatcher, but if you want to be spending more time jumping and stomping then keep an eye on this board.”

Tester’s Verdict

“It amazes me that a board this light can make your riding feel as stable as it did. Jones have done a good job of striking the right balance here. Even though I usually tend to ride something a bit heavier, it felt really nice riding something as light as the Twin Sister.

“It amazes me that a board this light can make your riding feel as stable as it did”

I felt like this board was really easy to handle in more or less all the conditions faced. It turns on a dime, floats through powder effortlessly and is simply an easy board to tackle nearly anything with. It did remind me of the Jones Dreamcatcher, just a tiny bit stiffer and not as powder-specific.

Despite its flex rating being as high as a 7, I must say I don’t recall it feeling that stiff. However, this may be due to the board being so lightweight and the fact that I rode a 146, which is a bit too short for my length. That being said, it did feel very stable, so this board will definitely keep you on your feet while charging full speed down the mountain.

This thing is fun, responsive and simply a treat to turn with. All in all, it’s a great board for every kind of riding, and definitely beginner-friendly.”
