And finally, we couldn’t go without including the original Canadian outfitters Westbeach. You may have to wear sunglasses when looking at these eye-watering yellow Cut pants (left). Luckily for our retinas, the all black Wood Parker jacket neatly ties the outfit together and prevents you from looking like a traffic light. For the grungier fellows among us, try the Buller Overhead jacket and Armstrong pants (right). The anorak half-zip takes us back to the early days of snowboarding but with all the comforts of modern technology including critical seams, underarm venting and inner Ribknit cuffs.

about westbeach snowboarding
Billed as “the Canadian snowboarding original”, Westbeach has been around since the early days of the sport. Though the brand actually started in 1979 out of a Calgary board shop, it very quickly moved to Vancouver, and it’s with this laidback, west-coast Canadian city that Westbeach is indelibly associated. With the mountains of Cypress, Grouse and of course, Whistler right on their doorstep, the Westbeach designers were onto making properly technical outerwear right from the beginning. With a team that included riders like Devun Walsh and Dionne Delasalle, and the Westbeach Classic comp up at Whistler, they totally dominated the Canadian scene back in the day – and their strong heritage still shines through in these updated designs.
