Volcom’s original 90s punky feel is still very much present in their outerwear – with a whole array of crazy tartan pants and zany prints to the more grungy original style. For example, the Modern Chino Pant (left) is exactly what it says on the tin – fully waterproof in a casual chino style without the preppy connotations. It looks good paired with the 2-level shell Forged jacket. Ladies can don the Stone Jacket (right) which comes in a multitude of patterns alongside a pair of brightly coloured Booms Ins pants.

ABOUT volcom snowboarding
Volcom emerged out of America’s West Coast at around the same time as the grunge revolution – and like its musical counterpart, it went on to take the world by storm. But while grunge died the day Kurt Cobain decided to see what his shotgun tasted like, Volcom has just kept on growing and is now one of the most recognisable brands in skating, snowboarding and surfing. Legendary films like The Garden and Subjekt Haakonsen enhanced the brand’s reputation throughout the nineties, reinforcing the stylish aesthetic that characterised their clothes and turning ‘the stone’ into a symbol of cool. And while they may be a massive company these days, that original punky feel is still very much present in all their outerwear.
