Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s probably just someone wearing these – the brand new LED snowboard boots from Nike.

Wait, what?!? Yep, you read that right. The Swoosh have decided that the logo on their top of the range LunarEndor model wasn’t quite bright enough and decided to add an LED array to it. Like those light up LA Gear basketball boots from the 90s (you remember, the ones that made your mate the envy of the primary school playground) these run on their own internal battery.

And if you’re not feeling particularly flash for whatever reason (let’s say you’re having a bad riding day) you can apparently turn the lights off.

Here’s what Nike had to say about the launch:

“Impressive enough standing still, these LED-adorned beauties will mesmerize crowds as they rotate through the night sky at this season’s biggest snowboard competition finals. The swoosh’s 30 LEDs are powered by an embedded lithium ion battery, and it’s on/off switch is conveniently located atop the boot’s cuff so you can go UFO whenever the mood strikes.”
