Starting out as a video production company way back in 2004, Kevin Sansalone started making good-looking, low profile helmets in 2007 for all the up and coming Canadian riders he was filming. Sandbox Helmets quickly gained a strong following in Whistler and it went on from there. It is still a rider owned company.
Fast forward to 2016 and take a trip to any snowdome in the UK, you are sure to see a whole bunch of heads with Sandbox helmets on, ripping the rail line to shreds. Sandbox quickly changed the stigma that was once attached to riding with a helmet on, switching up the styles and protecting a lot of people’s money makers in the process. No one is going to force you to wear a helmet on the mountain but if you do decide to and want something to protect your brains, that fits properly and looks sick to boot, Sandbox is the obvious choice.
