CAPiTA Snowboards 2016-2017 Preview – ISPO 2016

Capita – the defenders of awesome – are back with their line-up for next winter, with many of the classics you all know and love, as well as a few treats in store…

You wouldn’t be mistaken in thinking there’s a bit of a space-age theme going on with many numbers in Capita’s 16/17, and they’re certainly hyped about their new factory site in Austria, dubbed ‘The Mothership’. It’s one futuristic looking mutha’, and with full Hydro Power fuelling it, locally sourced materials and more you can rest easy in the knowledge that Capita snowboards are doing their bit for the planet too.

In terms of new materials and construction, you can expect developments along the lines of the ‘Nano Carbon Race Base’ on this year’s Black Snowboard of Death, or ‘Plant Based Evo Resin’ and ‘Wax Infused Enduro Base’ on the Ultrafear, and you’ll find new stainless steel inserts throughout the range.

The NAS bows out this year, with new entries like Kazu’s Pro model jumping into the fray in its place, offering a rapidly maneuverable powder board with plenty of power. Of course there are all the new Spring Break boards to look forward to too, with four new shapes varying on the original theme, then the return of the Slush Slasher, and a new entry in the Spring Break Twin – an asymmetrical twin that pairs park laps with carving.

Finally, and it’s a big one, there’s the new Volcom x Capita Pat Moore guest Pro model! A pairing of the brand with long time friend Pat, with signature graphics that sit on top of a classic camber freestyle powerhouse. Reinforced with carbon fibre beams, and ABS sidewalls, this one’s made for a perfect blend of stability and agility regardless of the features you take it to, with more than enough pop to go round…
