World Rookie Tour Finals 2014

AMS AND GROMS BATTLE IT OUT IN ISCHL

The finals of the World Rookie Tour went down last weekend, the ultimate competion for your mini shredders. The slopestyle course in Ischgl, Austria saw all manner of outgageous tricks being thrown down despite the limited number of winters under the competitor’s belts.

Good news for the future of British snowboarding; Katie Omerod walked off with the overall tour win with a run that included both a back seven mute and what was described as one of the most stylish front boards of the day.

For the guys, 17 year old Keita Inamura from Japan threw a back 12 into a switch back 12 on the kickers before blitzing the rail section and taking home the gold. That is truly staggering, X Games watch out.

Throwing almost more spins than anyone could keep up with, Keita Inamura got the win. You’ve not heard the last of him… Photo: Patrick Steiner
