Best Snowboard Pants 2025-2026

A round-up of the best snowboard pants for 2025-2026, tested, chosen and reviewed by the Whitelines Team

Investing in a pair of good snowboard pants is as important as investing in a good snowboard jacket. Ideally, you’d want something that’s as comfortable as a pair of tracksuit bottoms and 10 times better at keeping you dry.

There’s nothing more uncomfortable than riding in a pair of pants that don’t stop your bum from getting wet. As snowboarders, it is more or less inevitable that at some point we’re going to park our bums down on the damp slopes. In comparison to skiers, we also spend a lot more time bending down to strap in and out of our bindings – meaning you’ll want to pull on something that lets you bend your knees comfortably.

“Despite it being crucial for a pair of snowboard pants to be both waterproof and breathable, you also might want to think about insulation”

Despite it being crucial for a pair of snowboard pants to be both waterproof and breathable, you also might want to think about insulation. If you’re the one in your crew that’s always moaning about being cold, investing in a pair of pants with added insulation might be a good shout rather than in a pair of plain shell ones.

There’s also plenty of different styles out there: skinny fit, baggy fit, bib pants – you’ve got plenty to choose from. If you want to learn more about what to look for when choosing your next snowboard pants, take a look at our in-depth advice on ‘how to choose the best snowboard jackets and pants’.

Beyond Medals Nostalgia Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: £195 / €219 / $219
SIZES: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Insulated
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 15K/15K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Beyond Medals Nostalgia Pants:
Hats off to Beyond Medals for honouring the good ol’ days with the most 90s colour palette imaginable – but all the while putting performance first.

Who are the Beyond Medals Nostalgia Pants for?
Are you looking for pants with great specs and features, at a reasonable price? And do you prefer a simple two-pocket system? (And isn’t that almost everyone…?)

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
Sometimes brands skimp on breathability in favour of a blockbuster waterproofing rating, but with the Beyond Medals Nostalgia, you get both in spades. Some low-profile insulation may come in handy during the cooler months, but if things get too toasty, there’s always the inside leg vents.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“Hands down, my favourite outerwear I’ve tested this winter. Beyond Medals has clearly put a lot of time and effort not just into the style of how the kit looks, but the fit. The pants are baggy without being excessive, and they fall very naturally when worn, so my knobbly ass knees aren’t poking out, giving away that I’ve actually got twiglet legs. I also got the most compliments on my fit while wearing the full Nostalgia kit – so you know, ‘look good, feel good, ride good’ etc… I tested this across various temperatures and snow conditions, and was comfortable throughout. It’s very lightly lined, but effectively can be worn effectively like a shell. My only negative feedback – the built-in belt is a great addition, but the adjuster slipped. So I wound up having to add another belt. Didn’t cause any discomfort, but worth mentioning! I’ll be repping this one for as long as I can!”

Why we chose the Quiksilver Paramo Stretch 20K Pants:

Who are the Quiksilver Paramo Stretch 20K Pants for?
Riders seeking a dependable pair of pants with a serious waterproof rating, and which focus on thoughtful details over flashy features.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
Quik’s 20K DryFlight technology provides solid weather protection while the WarmFlight x1 insulation adds lightweight warmth (both welcome features if you spend any time on your arse). Stretch fabric construction enhances mobility, while the fit is baggy without going full Yung Doli-tard. Front-positioned pockets offer secure, accessible storage.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“A solid, insulated pair of plain black pants. They fit well, and the material was high-quality. The pockets felt secure and were situated on the front more than the side which was great. Not much more to say, if you’re looking for decent black pants, then these are great.”

Airblaster Cypress Women’s Pants 2025-2026

SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL
CATEGORY: Resort
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 15K/10K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Airblaster Cypress Pants:
Naima Antolin is one of the most stylish and versatile riders out there, so it makes sense that her Cypress Pants from Airblaster hit the same marks.

Who are the Airblaster Cypress Pants for?
If you’re sniffing out powder stashes in the morning, munching miles on the hardpack after lunch and honing your bag of tricks between the park ropes in the late afternoon sun, and you want a pair of pants to do it all, then the Airblaster Cypress Pants have got versatility by the bagload.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
With their super baggy 90s cargo-style fit, the Airblaster Cypress pants are bang on trend, and they don’t just look good, they’re kitted out with storm-proof 15K/10K 2-layer fabric and Airblaster’s PFC-free DWR coating for good measure. You’ll find a bunch of useful pockets to stash your stuff, plus you can dial in the fit with an adjustable waist and cinchable hems.

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“Very trendy new pants by Airblaster. I’ve seen a lot of new pleated styles coming out next year, and this fits into that with a matching jacket to go with it. A lanyard in the pocket to attach your pass to was a nice touch. I wasn’t a fan of the buttons, but it wasn’t enough to put me off the pants. Draw the cord at the leg to give them a cinch look.”

686 Dojo Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: €259.95 / £235 / $249.95
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Insulated
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 20K/15K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the 686 Dojo Pants:
Forest Bailey’s pant of choice is a rare breed, being technical enough for all-mountain ripping and stylish enough for a street sesh – backed by proper 20K protection and subtle insulation.

Who are the 686 Dojo Pants for?
Style-conscious riders who refuse to compromise on quality. These things might be built for the hill, but they look damn cool in the coffee shop – and we’re here for that.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
The Dojo is available in three distinct fabrics, but our definite favourite is the Navy Denim for that understated urban vibe. Whichever way you go, you’re looking at 20K/15K protection with light insulation, multiple pocket configurations, and 686’s signature attention to detail. The back logo looks sick (and earned our tester plenty of attention) while the relaxed fit works for all riding styles.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“These pants are stylish and comfortable. The small details separate it from the pack, with the logo on the back getting lots of comments (positive ones) in just two runs. The material is comfortable, the zips work, and they’re very slightly insulated. I wore them on a -20C day with just a base layer under and was comfortable. I’d gladly buy these and run them as an everyday resort/street pant. Really impressed.”

Souvenir 3 Ply Ripstop Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: €250 / $246
SIZES: XXXS, XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 20K/20K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Souvenir 3 Ply Ripstop Pants:
They’re a perfect match for one of our favourite jackets, with the same bulletproof ripstop construction and earth-tone swagger, plus cargo pockets and street-inspired details.

Who are the Souvenir 3 Ply Ripstop Pants for?
Riders embracing the current throwback aesthetic who want pants baggy enough to make MC Hammer jealous, paired with technical performance that keeps pace.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
The 3 Ply Micro Ripstop delivers 20k/20k protection through a PFAS-free membrane and PFC-free DWR. YKK Vislon zippers handle pockets and inner-leg vents, while cargo pockets add utility. An elasticised waistband with brushed tricot insert teams with a removable webbing belt. Velcro-adjustable cuffs prevent snow entry without traditional gaiters, while that Barn Red colourway with the black knee patches is more 90s than Chandler’s sweater vest (“Hi, I’m Chandler – could I BE wearing any more clothes?”)

Tester Verdict

Kevin Frank

“Very good pants! Durable and comfortable, with some awesome feature updates from the previous model. The Velcro cinch on the cuffs is great for adjustment and keeps snow out of your boots, as these pants have no inner gaiter. The built-in belt works well, and the key loop is a really nice little street-inspired touch for the parking lot. The price is right and these things rule – it’s a no-brainer.”

Beyond Medals X 3L Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: €329.95
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 20K/20K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Beyond Medals X 3L Pants:
Sturdy specs combined with 90s-style bagginess isn’t a combination we can resist, quite frankly.

Who are the Beyond Medals X 3L Pants for?
These are baggy in the way that Spinal Tap’s ‘Smell The Glove’ album was black, so we expect fans of a roomier fit to lap these up.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
While the Beyond Medals X 3L are just shell pants, the multiple layers mean that it’ll keep the elements out better than most – especially once you consider the cinched leg hems. The 100% recycled fabric may not be as stretchy as some, but with that loose fit it’s not likely to be an issue.

Tester Verdict

Kevin Frank

“The thing I love most about these pants is that they are just so damn comfortable. They feel like wearing air, and offer exceptional mobility. They do their job standing up to the elements very well, although I do recommend layering up underneath them. Having pants with a baggy fit like this in a 3L option is really great for the freestyle-influenced all-mountain rider. Pockets in all the right places, the elasticated cinches on the bottom of the pants are perfect, and the baggy fit looks really, really good (in my humble opinion). I have rated these pants a 10/10 for appearance; however, please keep in mind I am Canadian and have a soft spot for real tree camo. The black option in these pants would be great for someone looking for a more toned-down look. Really great pants!”

Patagonia Powslayer Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: $649 / €650 / £580
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL
CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: GORE-TEX Pro ePE
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Patagonia Powslayer Pants:
The matching trousers to Patagonia’s flagship backcountry jacket feature the same revolutionary Gore-Tex Pro ePE construction and weigh in at just over half a kilo, making them the ultimate choice for eco-conscious freeriders.

Who are the Patagonia Powslayer Pants for?
Splitboarders and backcountry enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on weight, breathability, or environmental credentials when earning their turns.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
The Powslayer pant mirrors the jacket’s 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro ePE construction with 100% recycled nylon and PFAS-free treatment. Low-profile side vents dump heat on the skintrack, while watertight Vislon side zippers and bellowed cargo pockets expand for storage. A low-bulk fly with double-snap closure, belt loops, and internal elastic tabs dial the fit. At 547g, these things pack down small while making zero compromises in performance, plus they’re Fair Trade Certified – setting an important benchmark for the industry.

Tester Verdict

Tristan Kennedy

“I wore Patagonia’s new Powslayer jacket and pants for a couple of days piste bashing around Val Gardena and Passo Tonale and appreciated the range of features (including lift pass pocket, and two capacious chest pockets) and the comfy fit. But it was when I got it out splitboarding that the jacket really came into its own. You really do feel the difference with Gore-Tex Pro when you start climbing – it just takes much longer to work up a sweat. I’ve worn a (non-recycled) Gore-Tex Pro jacket by another leading brand for the past couple of seasons, and this felt exactly the same in terms of supreme breathability. The vents on both the jacket and pants allow you to dump heat easily. I did a late-season mission to a peak in Italy’s Süd-Tirol region, with an early start, so I needed the warmth before the sun came up, and wore the jacket most of the way up. When I needed to take it off, it packed down impressively small and weighed very little in my bag. You’d expect nothing less from Patagonia, but both the jacket and pants are really great products.”

Beyond Medals Park 2L Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: €170
SIZES: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 15K/15K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Beyond Medals Park 2L Pants:
These are about as classic a freestyle model as you can get – yet sturdy enough for venturing beyond the kickers and rails.

Who are the Beyond Medals Park 2L Pants for?
The price point is the Park pants’ USP, making these the ideal option for the all-round rider who likes their fit a lot looser than their purse-strings.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
While not as suited to harsh conditions as, say, the Beyond Medals X pants, the Park pants still boast surprisingly decent specs for the price. Drawstrings at the waist and hems will keep them where they’re supposed to be, leaving you to enjoy the roomy comfort and freedom of movement every time you tweak a grab.

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“These hit the mark perfectly: they’re affordable, and look cool while still being functional. These fit extremely baggy, so you can definitely size down. The art logo on the bum is a very cool touch. Ideal for the freestyler, or those just looking for budget pants.”

SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL
CATEGORY: Resort
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 10K/10K

Why we chose the 686 Outline Pants:

Who are the 686 Outline Pants for?
If you’re a rider who prioritises freedom of movement, whether that’s for busting moves at apres, tweaking out grabs or bootpacking across terrain, you’ll enjoy the extra space and ergonomic design of the Outline pants.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
With their 10K/10K weatherproofing and taped seams, the Outline Pant is locked and loaded for the mountains. The stretch fabric isn’t just comfy, it’s essential for those looking to really get the most out of their pant and is ideal for those who want to bonk, tweak and flex over the hill. Shells are the most versatile on the market, allowing you to layer up depending on the weather, whether that’s baltic missions in mid-winter or hotlaps in the spring sun. Fully adjustable in the waist and with cuffable hems, these pants allow you to flex them your own way.

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“The outline pant is a cool baggy pant for the girls. Having a baggier fit caters to a wider audience. These weren’t extremely baggy, but the right amount to look cool. The details in the embroidered logo were a standout to me. A heavier shell pant with 10k waterproof / breathability. An entry-level shell for the market.”

CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 20K/20K

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
Everything you could want from all-rounder pants is present and correct in the Vans Hi-Country 3L, including mesh-lined vents, boot gaiters, powder skirt, and tougher material on the knees to prevent wear-out. Two big, glove-friendly thigh pockets keep your accessories within easy reach, and there are a couple on the back too.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“I wore these on numerous street missions, as well as for park laps. They held up so well that they became my go-to work pants when covering events for Whitelines. They’re hardy, so didn’t tear easily, had ample pockets, and somehow still looked stylish. No nonsense, high-quality kit. Oh, and I didn’t even waterproof them once, and they stayed dry throughout. Only negative is that the font facing pockets can cause a hell of a deadleg if you take a facefirst slammer. But honestly…if you’re pancaking the floor at speed, it’s gonna hurt anyway…”

Quiksilver High Altitude GORE-TEX Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: £270
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Resort
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: GORE-TEX
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Anyone who values understated quality and a standard baggy fit, and who’s willing to shell out a little more for Gore (hey, I’m a poet and I didn’t know it).

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
The High Altitude pant is a fairly straight fit without crazy levels of sag, while a drawstring waist provides adjustable comfort. GORE-TEX fabric offers excellent waterproof and breathable protection, while WarmFlight x1 insulation adds lightweight warmth. 100% recycled polyester boosts the sustainability credentials, and check this – Quiksilver have made them available in any colour you like… as long as it’s black.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“Good quality, simple black pants. They aren’t super baggy and have more of a straight fit. They have a drawstring to pull tight if you don’t want to run a belt. The zips got stuck a little for me, but that may be just because it’s a sample.”

Tech Talk

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“These are pretty much exactly what they say on the tin. Super baggy, slightly insulated… and since I had them in the black version, pretty much no frills. I wore them on a -9c day with base layers and was toasty! They’re perfectly suited for park and street laps and the baggy cut is bang on trend – plus it’s a reputable brand rather than some IG brand / Amazon bullshit…. Too baggy for me, but I’m also 31 and have negative style. So that’s probably a glowing review…”

Airblaster Beast Access Pants 2025-2026

PRICE: $199.95
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
CATEGORY: Shell
WATERPROOF / BREATHABILITY: 30K/20K
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Airblaster Beast Access Pants:
Fashion comes and goes, but baggy pants will always have a place in our hearts – and they don’t come much baggier – or better – than these beauts from Airblaster.

Who are the Airblaster Beast Access Pants for?
If freedom of movement is a dealbreaker for you, then definitely look at these – especially if you want something that can withstand the elements just as well as any specialist backcountry brand’s high-spec drainpipe number.

Tech Talk
Fit, features, materials and construction
We’re huge fans of the classic pyjama-style draw cord on the elasticated waistband – perhaps one of the garment world’s most underrated technologies. While that keeps ‘em up, the mesh-lined vents (placed on the outer leg, where they should be!) keep ‘em cool. Like the jacket of the same name, the outer shell is fully recycled.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“High-quality pants with high waterproof & breathability ratings. The drawstring waist and elastic cuffs provide a great fit that’s baggy and boxy enough to match current fashion without being too much. I got a lot of compliments on these, and they felt really comfortable to ride in. The only note I’ll say is this – if you’re clipping up in the trees, the real tree winter camo WORKS. My legs were invisible in the clip, haha!”
