There aren’t many greater feelings than waking up and realising you’ve had a truckload of fresh snow overnight. Over the last few years, we’ve seen the traditional powder board rhetoric thrown on its head. More and more boards are adopting the short and fat outline, swapping length for width to make up the surface area. These little rockets are more manoeuvrable and agile than the traditional powder boards and are the ideal companions for zipping in and out of the trees.
A more conventional powder board will normally be a little longer than your standard snowboard and will generally feature a progressive rocker in the nose. These missiles are perfect for huge slashes on wide, open faces and will throw up tracks like nothing else. Like with everything in snowboarding, there’s no right or wrong with it, you’ll want to have a browse through and see what board matches your style of riding.
