The Flagship has been the figurehead of the Jones line since its launch. It’s the spearhead of the Jones dynasty, and rightly so. It’s a hard charging piece of engineering which represents the magnum opus of snowboard tech.

If you’re a gentle snowbunny who’s after a board to hold your hand as you cascade down a green run then you may as well stop reading this now. If, however, you like to kick ass and take names then this will be right up your alley.

“7mm spooned contours in the nose and tail improve float in the deep stuff and make turn initiation smoother”

With a pretty stiff flex you’ve got the power to pump in and out of your turns at breakneck speed, and you’ll be super stable while you’re going mach 10.

Old Jeremy is really flying the sustainability banner, and this trickles down into his board production. Jones use recycled edges, recycled plastic and flax stringers to reduce their footprint, all while making premium boards. The stringers transfer power to the edges quickly and efficiently, making the Flagship able to turn on a dime and lay into carves at the speed of light.

7mm spooned contours in the nose and tail improve float in the deep stuff and make turn initiation smoother. The tip and tail have had a makeover and the traditional Flagship shape has sailed off into the past. A deadly weapon for freeriding, fast charging and fun seeking females, hop on, hoist your flag and set sail.

Tester’s Verdict

Corinne MayhewMayhew Snowboarding

“I lucked out with conditions to test the Jones Flagship, with a quiet Saturday morning and around 30cm of the fresh stuff the night before… it was the perfect opportunity to see what it could do. It didn’t feel particularly set back, but the directional shape and beautifully rockered nose gave an impressive float on the open face. This board just made riding powder easy. My back leg felt as fresh as a daisy at the end of the day, as the front of the board could drive through each turn just as much as the back.

“The Flagship is the ideal board for anyone who struggles riding powder and would like a solid platform under their feet that they can rely on for glide”

The Flagship is the ideal board for anyone who struggles riding powder and would like a solid platform under their feet that they can rely on for glide, drive and float, just as much as an advanced rider who wants to make the most of any freshies. Just because it’s aimed at backcountry riders, don’t rule out the Flagship as an all-mountain board.

The camber between the feet and decent-sized tail means that I could happily carve down the pistes, deal with bumpy, chopped up snow and have fun jibbing on side hits around the mountain. There wasn’t any ice around to test it on but I reckon this board would have given solid grip with its new ‘traction tech’ technology. I didn’t even realise that the Flagship is extremely eco-friendly, made from super sap bio resin. An amazing advance in snowboard design and it addresses an issue close to all our hearts.

Thumbs up Jezza!”
