Deeluxe’s Alpha is the brand’s entry-level boot, designed to take you from relative novice to competent shredder. The soft flex is combined with the brand’s speed-lace system making this boot not only easy to learn in, but also very easy to get on at the start of the day and off at the end. equally, that soft flex means it’s comfortable to stroll around in, so if you’re unused to having your feet strapped up so tight, you won’t feel the burn too badly. The boot features a powerstrap around the ankle, adding a bit of extra support where you need it. That said, if you’re into Xavier de la Rue-style straight-lining, this boot will definitely be too soft for you. You’d be much better off with the Spark XV (his Deeluxe-made pro-model) instead. But if you like jibbing or you’re looking for a boot to get you started in snowboarding, this is a good’un.
