The Legend has been part of Northwave’s line for almost as long as the company has been making boots – and given that they’ve been in business since the late 80s, that’s saying something! This latest version features a couple of neat innovations including what the call a ‘540-degree’ heel harness. This basically connects the laces to an internal heel harness, so when you tighten your laces, you’re also pulling the inner and outer boots together from all sides at once. There’s Northwave’s ‘TF2’ liner, which is comfy and heat-mouldable, and their ‘SL’ speed-lacing system, featuring a single cleat at the front. The mid-stiff-flex makes these pretty versatile and we found them surprisingly responsive for a boot at this price point. In fact, one of the main reasons they earned a place in the Whitelines 100 was the ‘bang for your buck’ factor. These punch above their weight!
