Thanks to the tendency of technologies to trickle down through the product lines as years progress, even the cheapest snowboards these days use many materials and construction methods that used to be the sole preserve of the most advanced models, so when it comes to getting value for money in 2018-2019, you’ve never been better placed.
“These are the models we felt offered the best bang for your buck”
But while the best value snowboards our testers chose this year won’t include the top-of-the-line, apex-level constructions you’ll find on the highest-priced boards, that’s in no way saying that these are all basic designs – for that check our Best Entry Level Snowboards 2018-2019; instead, these are the models we felt offered the best bang for your buck.
This can often involve taking a top-end board and dialling back on some of the pricier components, like carbon inserts or sintered bases, to produce a similar ride at a lower cost. Alternatively it could just be a stand-alone model that performs above and beyond what you’d expect from its price point.
Whatever the case, the boards on show below are all great fun to ride and an absolute bargain to boot.
