Anon Oslo WaveCel Helmet 2025-2026

PRICE: $234.95 / €240 / £215
SIZES: S, M, L, XL
MIPS: No
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Anon Oslo WaveCel:
WaveCel’s cellular impact technology offers an alternative to MIPS with crumple-zone protection, wrapped in a lightweight package that tips the scales at just 448g.

Who is the Anon Oslo WaveCel for?
Safety-conscious riders seeking advanced rotational impact protection beyond MIPS, particularly those who value lightweight construction for touring and splitboarding.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction, features and safety certs
The Oslo pairs WaveCel’s 3D cellular structure with in-mold construction, fusing a polycarbonate shell to an EPS liner. WaveCel distributes impact energy through interconnected shock absorbers, reducing forces while diverting rotational impacts. A 360° BOA Fit System enables micro-adjustments, while Fidlock magnetic buckles allow one-handed operation. Two passive vents circulate air, backed by a fleece liner and ear pads for warmth.

Tester Verdict

Tristan Kennedy

“The main selling point of this helmet is the thing you can’t test* i.e. how well it absorbs the shock of landing on your head. Anon’s WaveCel shock absorbers – which look like wave-shaped lines of green rubber on the inside of the lid -–apparently works like the crumple zone of a car to reduce force impacts. I’ll take their word for it. For everything I could test, however, this helmet was excellent. It’s light, at 448g, adding very little weight to my splitboarding backpack. As you’d expect, it integrates perfectly with Anon goggles, and the magnet clasp is super easy to operate even with thick gloves on. My only quibble was that I’d prefer a slightly lower profile look – but I guess that’s a byproduct of the superior impact cushioning WaveCel offers. And to be honest, if you’re wearing a helmet you’re already (rightly) prioritising brain safety over a stylish hat, so this is a minor point.

*Risking brain injury is a step too far even for Whitelines’ dedicated test team!”

Dragon DX3 Goggles 2025-2026

PRICE: £60 / €71 / $75
LENS: Cylindrical
SYSTEM: Manual
SIZE: Medium
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Dragon DX3 Goggles:
’Frameless’ was once the future, but by now it’s clear that classic-framed goggles will never die – especially when you’re looking at the more affordable price points.

Who are the Dragon DX3 Goggles for?
With most goggles running to three figures these days, riders on a budget would be bonkers not to consider this one. A true classic, with a long record of service.

Tech Talk
Lens, frame, and straps
The lens isn’t easy to change by modern standards, but it can be done thanks to notches in the lens and anchor points in the frame. Likewise, we’ve seen better face foam, but we defy anyone not to find the Dragon DX3 goggles sitting comfortably on their face. They’re also available in a larger size, if that’s your thing.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“Price point goggles that were super effective, really comfortable. The field of vision was suitably wide, good contrast for clarity. The frame is nice and flexible for a snug fit. The bridge came up a little high in the inside of the nose, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Hard to recommend better goggles for this price.”

Anon M5 Goggles 2025-2026

PRICE: £290 / €320 / $315
LENS: Flat Toric
SYSTEM: Magnetic
SIZE: Regular Bridge / Low Bridge
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Anon M5 Goggles:
Burton’s goggle sub-brand delivers a massive field of vision through a flat toric lens paired with bombproof magnetic lens changes and crystal-clear optics.

Who are the Anon M5 Goggles for?
Riders who demand premium optics and effortless lens swapping across all conditions – from bluebird days to complete whiteouts (where the compatible face mask also comes in very handy!).

Tech Talk
Lens, frame, and straps
The M5’s flat toric lens combines cylindrical and toric properties for maximum peripheral vision and a distinct style. Anon’s ‘Perceive’ optics deliver high-contrast, terrain-defining clarity, while their Magna-Tech claims to use “rare earth N52 magnets” for secure, fumble-free lens changes that survive heavy slams. Integral Clarity anti-fog treatment exceeds industry standards, backed by full-perimeter vents for consistent airflow. Includes bonus lens, MFI face mask, storage case, and protective sock.

Tester Verdict

Tristan Kennedy

“I’ve worn Anon goggles before, and tried their magnetic lens change system, but not for a few years. The latest version feels more secure than ever. You can risk changing these on a chairlift without worrying too much about fumbling, and they stay locked in even after a heavy ragdoll in powder. Trust us, we tried it (although not deliberately!) The field of vision on the M5 is massive, the fit is super comfortable, and between them, the two lenses our test pair came with (Perceive Sunny Red, and Perceive Cloudy Burst) handled the full range of conditions over the course of the winter – from complete whiteout in Cortina d’Ampezzo to bright sunshine in the Accursed Mountains of Albania.”

Crab Grab Champ Mitts 2025-2026

PRICE: €109
SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL
SHAPE: Mitten
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Crab Grab Champ Mitts:
The clue’s in the name: this glove is ready to take on all comers, and it’ll take a hell of a challenger to end its reign at the top.

Who are the Crab Grab Champ Mitts for?
These are mega-warm, so fairweather riders may want something more lightweight. But with a huge range of unisex sizes, this really is a mitt for the masses.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features
The waffle-pattered liners are the standout feature of the Crab Grab Champ mitts; as well as being cosy, they allow air to move around, preventing the sweatbox effect.

Tester Verdict

Tristan Kennedy

“There’s a reason I’ve run these gloves day in, day out for two years. They’re ridiculously warm and comfortable for the price. The grippy palm also legitimately helps you get your tweak on (or certainly provides enough placebo effect to feel like it!). They also come in so many different colours and styles to match with your fit. No-brainer.”

Coal The Mission Hat 2025-2026

PRICE: $55.95
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Coal The Mission Hat:
Somewhere betwixt the beanie and the cap lies the Mission. It’s an unconventional look, but will prove a useful ally in the right circumstances.

Who is the Coal The Mission Hat for?
Those who like a springtime corn harvest in the backcountry will appreciate this one’s sun-blocking attributes, as well as its versatility (flaps on, flaps off!).

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

The Coal Mission hat is largely made of a synthetic fleece material that’s more than capable of keeping you warm all year round. Popping the earflaps down on particularly chilly days is a piece of cake, too.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“Super comfortable and practical cap for touring, or sunny-but-cold days. The ear flaps came down enough to provide warmth without being fully covered beanie-style.
The peak is unstructured, and therefore great for touring and stuffing in a pocket or bag. Highly recommend!”

Oakley Flow Scape Goggles 2025-2026

PRICE: £375 / €375 / $503
LENS: Conical
SYSTEM: Frame Lock
SIZE: Medium/Large
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Oakley Flow Scape Goggles:
Conical lenses have entered the building! It’s the first new configuration in a while, but based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s definitely been worth the wait.

Who are the Oakley Flow Scape Goggles for?
Fans of bleeding-edge tech will want to try this new approach to goggles – but if you’re after something with bonus sustainability points, this one’s frame is made from bio-resin.

Tech Talk
Lens, frame, and straps
That lens isn’t just upping the field of vision – it’s pretty much guaranteed to banish distortion and fogging, largely thanks to its single-layer design. We also straight-up love Oakley’s Prizm lenses, and they come with a spare. The face foam on the Oakley Flow State goggles is also new, and cleverly positioned to stay out of sight.

Tester Verdict

Jim Walker

“I often find that when I wear good goggles I don’t notice them, and that’s been the bar by which I judge whether they’re good or not for a while now… However the Flow Scape has blown that method out of the water as I immediately noticed just how large the field of view was on these without major distortion. They’re absolutely amazing, super comfortable and crystal clear vision. I’d highly recommend them!”

Eivy Icecold Merino Wool Gaiter Top 2025-2026

PRICE: €119.95 / $139.95 / £104.95
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Eivy Icecold Merino Wool Gaiter Top:
Eivy has taken the concept of the humble base layer and turned it on its head with great aesthetics but even better feel and function.

Who is the Eivy Icecold Merino Wool Gaiter Top for?
Anyone who prioritises performance, warmth and comfort, buuuut doesn’t want fashion to fall by the wayside.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

As the name suggests, Eivy uses Merino Wool with this base layer. Not only do you get a super cushy next-to-skin feel, but it’s also thermoregulating, itch-free, odour-free and antibacterial.

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“My first time trying Eivy base layers and the product has lived up to the hype. Very comfortable and flattering. I rated it as not true to size because I believe this product fits oversized. This could be a test to see if other products in the market fit too small. I believe these products will have a wider audience with their sizing. Base layer that looks so good you can wear it to work, to apres, or just hanging out.”

Yeti Explore Rambler 16oz Stackable Cup 2025-2026

PRICE: £25
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Yeti Explore Rambler 16oz Stackable Cup:
If you’re heading far out of bounds, staying fuelled and hydrated is as important as the lines you’re scoping. The durability and stackability of this cup makes it a great choice.

Who is the Yeti Explore Rambler 16oz Stackable Cup for?
Given that the lid is splash-proof but not leak-proof, this isn’t one for quick blasts of hot or cold brews during breaks on the skin track. For serious missions, though, where you need some downtime round the stove once the tents are up, it’s perfect.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

Yeti kit is seriously robust, with a stainless steel construction that’s almost impossible to ding in any significant way. The vacuum lining maintains the liquid’s temperature for longer, and when you get home, you can just bung it in the dishwasher.

Spy+ Stargazer Helmet 2025-2026

PRICE: £180
SIZES: M, L
MIPS: Yes
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Spy+ Stargazer:
Back for its second year, this lid boasts a subtle style – under which lies a whole heap of tech, including the potentially skull-saving MIPS system.

Who is the Spy+ Stargazer for?
Everyone, really – but given that the shell, foam liner and fleece are all made from recycled material, this one is a must for eco-centric riders.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction, features and safety certs
A dial-cranked liner keeps the Spy+ Stargazer sitting nicely on any head from first run to last, and the vents are easy to open and close even in mitts.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“This fit very comfortably; snug without being too tight, and the adjustable strap allowed me to dial in without creating any pressure points. The only negative was that the interior liner moves around a little, separate from the frame of the helmet. There’s no rattling around or excessive movement, though – it’s only noticeable as you put the helmet on or off.The vent opening system was discreet and seamless – very functional and effective – and the strap for locking down the goggles was well designed, never coming loose. Style-wise, it’s a little average. It’s not the roundest I’ve seen on my helmet tests this winter, but it was still a little cannon-bally for my taste. This isn’t so much a negative against Spy+ but all helmets in general at the moment. They seem to have referred back to the mega-dome style, pre the sandbox revolution of a decade or so ago. By comparison, my Anon helmet from four years ago is a much lower, snugger profile. Maybe it’s the modern tech integrations of MIPS, etc, that’s caused it (I have no idea!), but I prefer a sleeker fit.”

Coal Vista Clava Balaclava 2025-2026

PRICE: $37 / €29.95

Why we chose the Coal Vista Clava Balaclava:
Looking good isn’t a priority when it’s dangerously cold – but hey, if it’s an option then why not go for it?

Who is the Coal Vista Clava Balaclava for?
If you like your full-face covering to be a little on the baggy side, as well as made of recycled materials, then you can’t go wrong with this one. And one size fits most!

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

The Coal Vista Clava goes for that Minions style, with one big eye-hole surrounded by a merrowed border. It’s comfy, and doesn’t reduce your visibility. Meanwhile the rest of your face stays toasty warm.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“This is the best thing I’ve ever put on my head. Super comfortable, without feeling constricting like some ballies. The fit is spot on and it’s so fucking cool. It has stylish street cred without looking like you’re about to batter someone’s grandma and steal her purse. I love it.”

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“I was super surprised by the quality of these. I’ve been lucky enough to test a variety of far more expensive and ‘luxurious’ socks over the years, but these performed as well, if not better, than most. They also held back the stink of my trotters far more effectively, a blessing for everyone in the house. Get your friends and fam to buy you a pair even if it’s just to spare their nostrils.”

Skullcandy Dime Evo Headphones 2025-2026

PRICE: $49.95 / €49.95
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Skullcandy Dime Evo Headphones:
Not everyone wants to go wireless on the hill, but for those that do, it’s wise to use headphones that can rise to the challenges beyond mere sound quality.

These will suit the active rider/traveller that’s also budget-conscious. As is common with Skullcandy, they’re available in a zillion colourways as well.

Autumn Select Fit Beanie 2025-2026

PRICE: €119.95 / $139.95 / £104.95
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Autumn Select Fit Beanie:
Tons of great gear, from jackets to socks, bears the Autimn name these days – but the brand’s roots are in making quality headgear like this.

Who is the Autumn Select Fit Beanie for?
Those who like a classic folded beanie with a subtle herringbone weave will want to check this out – and a whopping sixteen-strong colourway range means there’s a Select for every outfit.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

The Autumn Select Fit beanie is 100% acrylic, which combined with the medium thickness makes it a great ‘daily driver’ hat, from December to April, and from first chair to last call.

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“This hat is very comfortable and extremely trendy; Autumn hit the mark with their designs year after year. This quite basic hat is given a coolness with the alternating weave of colors so you get a red hat with a pop of another color in the knit.”

Tester Verdict

Kevin Frank

“Autumn makes the best touques, full stop. Great fit, exceptional build quality and material use, and classic and stylish colours! Not too much tech involved here; just a great hat. This specific model may be a bit thick to rock under a helmet though, if that’s your thing.”

Oakley Mod 1 Pro MIPS Helmet 2025-2026

PRICE: £153 / €180 / $206

Skate-style aesthetics meets peak on-snow performance in the Mod 1, with colour and size ranges to suit every melon.

Coal Premium Snow Socks 2025-2026

PRICE: $33
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Coal Premium Snow Socks:
Only a fool neglects his feet. Years of experience, from sub-zero windswept peaks to sweaty spring sessions, has taught us that this is one area where going ‘premium’ is a must.

Who are the Coal Premium Snow Socks for?
Sustainability fans will appreciate the use of Polyana – a soft, polyester-based fibre blend that is 100% traceable and 100% recyclable. There’s a bit of classic wool in there too, for added warmth.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

The aforementioned fabric blend in the Coal Premium Snow socks does a wonderful job of wicking away moisture, while keeping those toes toasty. It’s also surprisingly light.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“These are wicked socks. I gave them a proper swampy foot-testing by wearing them on back-to-back warmer days. As someone who runs very, very hot, that’s normally a recipe for some truly disgusting socks – but these dried fast and stayed stink/salt-line free. You could probably rep one pair of these for a week if you REALLY wanted to.

My only criticism: the material is a little thinner, which changed the feeling of my boots. It’s a really small thing, but if you’re switching from thicker socks, it’s something to be aware of.
Mind you, they could possibly allow you to squeeze into boots half a size smaller, so swings and roundabouts…”

Deuter Alproof Tour 38+5 Avalanche Backpack 2025-2026

PRICE: £1,350 / €1,400 / $1,400
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Deuter Alproof Tour 38+5 Avalanche Backpack:
An airbag pack doesn’t automatically eliminate avalanche risk, but when used properly it can significantly reduce it – and Deuter’s a brand you can trust.

Who is the Deuter Alproof Tour 38+5 Avalanche Backpack for?
With its myriad pockets and zipped sections, the chronically disorganised may find this one to be a game-changer. The top can be extended too.

Quiksilver Squad Glove 2025-2026

PRICE: £70
SIZES: S, M, L, XL
SHAPE: Glove
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Quiksilver Squad Glove:
Quiksilver’s leather-palmed workhorse combines DryFlight waterproofing with WarmFlight x2 insulation, touchscreen tech, and a pull-on hook that actually stays attached.

Who are the Quiksilver Squad Gloves for?
Riders who prefer dexterity over the pure warmth of mittens. The Squad offers reliable waterproof protection with thoughtful features like nose wipes and touchscreen compatibility.

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features
The Squad’s DryFlight membrane ensures waterproofing while WarmFlight x2 delivers 80g insulation without bulk. A Sherpa lining, touchscreen tech and nose wipe thumb panel handle the essentials, but the star of the show with this glove is that 100% goat leather palm.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“I’m a mitt guy, but it’s hard to deny these are good quality gloves. The leather palm seems hard-wearing and the lining keeps your hands warm, but I didn’t experience any overheating even on warmer spring day. My biggest takeaway was the hook to help pull them on! It felt solid rather tearing away and worked great. A good choice if you like fingers!”

Smith Method MIPS Helmet 2025-2026

PRICE: €87-€145 / £140-£149 / $87-$160
SIZES: S, M, L, XL
MIPS: Yes
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Smith Method MIPS:
It’s the complete package. MIPS and Zonal KOROYD combine for dual-layer impact protection, wrapped in a minimalist shell that weighs just 400g. Noice.

Removable Snapfit SL2 ear pads add warmth and audio compatibility. It’s also beanie compatible and available in Round Contour Fit for rounder heads.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“This is the best helmet on the market as far I’m concerned. Insanely light and with the stretchy liner that automatically fits your head it actually feels lighter and less restrictive than just running a beanie. Oh, and it has MIPs and is one of the cheapest on the market too. Light, Low profile, good looking, protective and affordable… I even bought one for myself. What more is there to say?”

Spy+ Waypoint Goggles 2025-2026

PRICE: £250
LENS: Spherical
SYSTEM: Magnetic
SIZE: Medium/Large
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: No

Why we chose the Spy+ Waypoint Goggles:
Spy+ turned the dial up to 11 with this new offering. In pure field-of-vision terms, we don’t reckon anything can hold a candle to the Waypoint.

Who are the Spy+ Waypoint Goggles for?
Goldfish will feel right at home! But seriously, that’s a whopper of a cylindrical lens, so only riders who are down for that look need apply. A larger face might help, but it’s not essential.

Tech Talk
Lens, frame, and straps
There’s no point in having a monster lens if it gets fogged up, but the Spy+ Waypoint’s targeted ventilation makes that a non-issue. The magnetic lens change is reassuringly chunky, yet still easy to pop out when needed, and Spy+’s lenses really are among the best in the game.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“I don’t normally run spherical goggles, purely from a style choice. But I was stoked on these; they fit perfectly with my helmet (Smith Method) and looked great. So aesthetically, they score high. From a technical standpoint, the lenses provided a huge field of vision without feeling distorted, and the Happy Boost tech has plenty of contrast to help define features ahead. The strap and materials felt comfortable and high-quality. All in all, a cracking pair of goggles!”

Zeal Meridian Goggles 2025-2026

PRICE: £165 / €215
LENS: Cylindrical
SYSTEM: Slide Rails
SIZE: Small
NEW FOR 25/26 SEASON: Yes

Why we chose the Zeal Meridian Goggles:
No half measures with this dinky yet powerful new model from eyewear specialists Zeal. And they had us at “cherry-blossom-inspired lenses”…

Who are the Zeal Meridian Goggles for?
Those who are small of face but grand of ambition will love these. They’re not cheap, but for what you get it’s a steal.

Tech Talk
Lens, frame, and straps
Despite their relatively small size, the Zeal Meridian goggles boast a seriously good field of vision, especially below you (where the snow, and your board, tend to be found…). The ‘Rail Lock’ lens changing system is so easy you could do it in oven mitts, and is backed up by a magnet for belt-n-braces levels of reliability.

Tester Verdict

Pat Nichols

“First off, I am not Asian, and these were ‘Asian fit’ goggles. So I’m going to do my best to make this verdict fair. The fit – as expected – ran small on my head and rode a little high up my nose and rubbed on the bridge slightly. However, for the right face, I am confident these would be a perfect fit. Despite running slightly small, the FOV was huge. I normally hate hitting rails with goggles on, and I was lapping the park while trying these out and felt none of the visual constrictions I normally do. Possibly due to that extra 20% vision at the bottom of the goggles? The lens gave a great, crisp image with good contrast and a nice tint on a bluebird day. While still having enough contrast in the shade to see. If they came in a bigger size for my face, I’d buy ‘em.”

Tech Talk
Materials, construction and features

Merino Wool is the gold standard for next-to-skin layers, it controls temperature, doesn’t collect odour and is soft as anything with a no-itch design. These base layer tights from Eivy answer the call from women everywhere and add 2 handy pockets, our prayers have been answered ladies!

Tester Verdict

Sara Previte

“These were my favorite product by far from Eivy. They were so comfortable I didn’t want to take them off. In a base layer I usually prefer a 3/4 length but I wasn’t phased because I loved these so much. The ribbed made them very flattering to wear even on their own. Fit a little on the bigger side.”
