When it comes to choosing new snowboard boots, it’s all about your individual preferences, riding style, and foot shape. Therefore the ‘best snowboard boots’ don’t really exist — or, at least, they won’t be the same from person to person. Snowboard boots come in all different shapes and sizes and there’s something out there for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a versatile all-mountain option, an uber stiff freeride demon, or a mellow freestyle boot, you’ve come to the right place.
“The sheer number of boots on offer these days is toe-tally mind blowing, so we’ve narrowed it down to our top choices”
When purchasing a new snowboard boot there are a few things you’ll want to bear in mind. Fit will always be the most important factor, followed by flex and then lacing. Head into your local snowboard store to try a bunch of different models and brands on, you’ll find out what works for you, and what doesn’t. I know a guy with six toes on one foot and even he manages to find a boot that works. The sheer number of boots on offer these days is toe-tally mind-blowing, so we’ve narrowed it down to our top choices.

Deeluxe DNA PRO
PRICE: €379.95 / $420 / £329.99
FLEX: 5/10
LACING SYSTEM: Hybrid
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose the Deeluxe DNA Pro Snowboard Boots:
Oufff, a softer-flexing freestyle boot that stands up to more than flatland jibbing? Sign us UP! And did you see that NASA-esque silver colourway?!
Who Is The Deeluxe DNA Pro For?
The softer flex means these boots are gonna be great for creative freestyle riding- think presses, butters, urban adventures and playful jibs BUT thanks to Deeluxe’s premium construction, they won’t noodle out on you when you want to push it a little bit outside the confines of the park. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then you know the drill.

Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
I love me a hybrid lace system! Pairing traditional laces with a specific heel BOA gives you the opportunity to micro-adjust your boots to keep your ankle locked in, without sacrificing the flexibility and versatility an OG lace brings to the table. This is in keeping with the DNA Pro’s freestyle roots, and Deeluxe use a cushy midsole for dampening and impact absorption, with a thermo-mouldable liner for all-day comfort.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“Amazing boot, outrageous heel hold… best I’ve experienced so far. I’d rank them slightly stiffer than the 5 they rate them for. But as far as a freestyle boot goes, these are spot on. Only note – I was able to comfortably size down 0.5 size for these. So they run a lil big. 10/10 would buy.”
Nidecker RIFT Pro
PRICE: £389.99 / €429.95 / $429.95
FLEX: 4/10
LACING SYSTEM: Dual BOA
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Nidecker Rift Pro Boots:
Nidecker’s popular Rift gets the premium treatment here – a tougher, more protective KPU shell, an armoured toe for hiking, and an outsole tuned specifically for Supermatic entry, all wrapped in a sleek and stylish design.
Who Is The Nidecker Rift Pro For?
Riders who want a genuinely technical boot that’s not crazy stiff. The Rift Pro features the kind of futuristic materials normally found on gnarly freeride models; at the same time, its relaxed, articulated flex suits creative riding and natural flow. The smooth panels are designed to make speed entry even easier – a definite bonus if you’re already aboard the Supermatic train – while those sharp looks (the white colourway is full sneaker pimp) mean you won’t mind the extra attention at the lift line.

Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
This year’s Rift Pro has been upgraded with BOA’s latest H5 dials that you can turn in both directions to tighten or gradually ease off tension. There are two lacing zones to customise the fit. Its articulated two-part shell flexes naturally without losing shape under pressure, while a heat-mouldable Silver liner and 3D Pro insole take care of comfort. The ‘Armor-Tech’ toe – together with those weatherproof KPU panels – ensure your feet stay well protected when scrambling ridgelines or breaking trail. Smooth lugs on the sole, together with a seamless ‘Transition Zone’ where the outsole meets the back, mean the boot slides easily in and out of modern speed-entry bindings like Supermatic without snagging on the heelcup.

Pat Nichols
“A nice, comfortable flex – but they don’t fold so you can sit into them. And they’re a class chavvy white colour that I love.”
Union Reset Pro
PRICE: £544.99 / €599.95 / $649.95
FLEX: 8/10
LACING SYSTEM: Double Boa
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Union Reset Pro Boots:
Returning for its sophomore year, this Italian-made masterpiece looks set to remain right at the front of the pack. Clever, classy, and built to last.
Who Is The Union Reset Pro Boots For?
It’s a fairly stiff model best suited to the more confident riders out there, but it doesn’t demand a specialism, so expect to see plenty of these in the park and in the pow. Fans of bleeding-edge tech will no doubt be drawn to this one, too.
Tech Talk
The Union Reset Pro’s key selling point is its outer shell made primarily from Pebax – a material so durable and lightweight that it’s been widely adopted by the world’s biggest running shoe manufacturers. It all sits around a memory-foam liner held in place by an ultra-fine-tunable double Boa system. New for 2026/27 is a Vibram-enhanced sole.
Tester Verdict
Kevin Frank
“The Reset Pro is very expensive, but claims that its unique design will allow you to get more riding days that anything else on the market. I am happy to report that beyond the liner packing out slightly, the boots are holding up well, with very little change to the boots flex over half a season of riding.
The boots are extremely comfy out of the box and offer a ‘best of both worlds’ flex that feels just as at home tweaking grabs as freeriding. Because they are so low volume, they can be a bit colder in the low temps, but in my experience it’s worth it for a shape fits extremely well in bindings. I’m absolutely loving them so far, and if they last as long as Union is claiming they are absolutely worth the money.”

Deeluxe Aeris Pro
PRICE: €449.95 / $470 / £409.99
FLEX: 7/10
LACING SYSTEM: Hybrid
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose the Deeluxe Aeris Pro Snowboard Boots:
Kevin Backstrom knows a thing or two (or seven million) about snowboarding, but we didn’t just choose his pro model boot because of him. The performance on offer here is genuinely top-notch.
Who Is The Deeluxe Aeris Pro for?
This is a boot for charging hard and fast, spraying skiers, laying out saucy carves and boosting big lines. But it does all of this without being so stiff that you can’t take casual laps when you want to- a best-of-both-worlds that gives big mountain freestyle its time in the sun.
Tech Talk
Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
“The liner maketh the boot” Didn’t William Shakespeare say that? I dunno, anyway, Deeluxe uses a super-cushy, thermo-mouldable liner to ensure your little piggies are tucked up nicely. With speed lace, BOA and an internal heel harness, you can lock in your heels and adjust the fit accordingly for a boot that will react instantly when you need it to. Durable, comfortable, stiff enough to hoon it- these are an instant winner.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“These are stiffer than I’d normally ride, but the new tech in the Deeluxe tongues made the world of difference. The stiffness still had a consistent flex rather than sitting your shins against a solid plate. As always with Deeluxe, they were super comfortable right out of the box, and they’re stylish as hell.
If you’re looking for a stiff boot for Mach-10 charging, this is a winner”

Bataleon Acid Double BOA
PRICE: €499.95 / $489.95
FLEX: 7/10
LACING SYSTEM: Double BOA
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Bataleon Acid Double BOA Snowboard Boots:
It sounds sick, it looks sick, and it is sick. Bataleon’s range topping Acid pairs dual BOA dials with their plushest liner for a locked-in fit that can handle the gnarliest of features.
Who Is The Bataleon Acid Double BOA For?
Experienced shredders and seasonaires who like their boots stiff and supportive. The foothold is seriously secure – not just at the heel but across the whole foot – making it a solid match for powering freeride boards through demanding terrain or lapping the XL line. Expect to break in the fit, but after that you’re set for the whole winter.
Tech Talk
Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
Dual side-mounted H5 BOA dials let you micro-adjust the fit on the fly – one controls the lower zone while the other tightens an AuxTech PowerStrap across the shin. The D1 DeluxeLiner is Bataleon’s best – heat-mouldable with a triple-density insole – while the new articulating cuff smooths forward flex. A grippy Vibram XS TREK outsole and FASE-optimized build round things out.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“The build quality on these boots is noticeable as soon as you open the box. The toe box has a secure rubberized fit for durabilty, the snowcuff is sturdy, and the BOA-controlled power strap is a really effective tool for comfortably cranking the upper area. They have the best full foot-hold of any boot I’ve tested, although I think they’d take a bit of breaking in because of that. Although they’re stiff and certainly look a little intimidating, the flex is smooth throughout ,with a consistent support that you can get used to quickly. Highly recommend for my stiff boot compadres.”
Northwave Domain 2 Spin
PRICE: £399 / €399 / $439
FLEX: 10/10
LACING SYSTEM: Speed Lace
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Northwave Domain 2 Spin:
Northwave are one of snowboarding’s OGs. They’ve been crafting boots from their Italian HQ since the 90s, and the Domain 2 Spin represents decades of refinement – delivering rugged good looks, a unique lacing system and powerful performance.
Who Is The Northwave Domain 2 Spin For?
Serious chargers who demand maximum, season-long response. This stiff-as-nails boot delivers the support and precision to bomb steeps, session the XL line or put in long backcountry days.
Tech Talk
Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
The Domain 2 Spin’s dual-dial system claims to be 25% faster to operate than conventional mechanisms – requiring just 15 turns versus the usual 20. Honestl, we’ve never bothered to count dial turns (has anyone?!) but you’ve got to admire any brand that challenges the BOA juggernaut, and Northwave’s design works surprisingly well. The Stomper outsole combines double-density EVA and rubber for cushioned heel impact while maintaining max board feel through its softer front section. Northwave’s Sender Pro liner features a three-point lacing system with stitched tapes for superior heel retention, sitting 1cm higher than standard liners for enhanced power transmission. TPU thermowelded reinforcements and PU shields protect high-wear areas, while the injected flex tongue delivers consistent response throughout the boot’s range of motion.
Tester Verdict
Tristan Kennedy
“I was wearing these for most of the second half of the season, riding them in a range of different snow conditions on and off piste and even taking them on a couple of long splitboarding missions. Overall, I’ve been very impressed. They felt comfortable straight out of the box, but are stiff and responsive when riding. Splitboarding famously trashes soft boots, putting seasons’ worth of wear through them in just a few outings, but so far these have held up well. I’d previously been a bit suspicious of Northwave’s Spin lacing system – I figured it was just a knock-off BOA. But it works well, especially in the dual combination. Your feet feel locked in and the release system is intuitive.”

Nidecker Kita
PRICE: $420 / £399 / €420
FLEX: 8/10
LACING SYSTEM: Double BOA
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Nidecker Kita Boots:
When most of a rider team chooses the same boot, it should be high on your own list. That’s definitely the case with the Kita – its winning blend of bombproof durability and premium comfort has seen it favoured by the likes of Mons Røisland, Craig McMorris and Eric Jackson (who has his own signature colorway no less).
Who Is The Nidecker Kita For?
Riders who prioritize fit and convenience over flashy features. This clean, understated boot mixes smart design and proven tech to deliver team-level performance. Its stiff-ish flex makes it ideal for more powerful shredders – whether they’re hitting big jumps, charging resort or exploring the backcountry.
Tech Talk
Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
The Kita features Dual-Dial BOA technology with an innovative External Heel Lock system – the tongue dial controls heel wings to eliminate lift while the side dial manages lower boot tension. The premium Gold Wrap Liner uses advanced heat-molding technology for custom fit, complemented by a 3D Triple Density insole with firm heel support and high-rebound cushioning. Armor-Tech toe protection keeps your pinkies safe and dry even when kicking in steps, while the seamless construction reduces weak points (our testers confirm that these boots last a long time). Transition Zone technology connects the outsole to the Exo Spine for enhanced response and smoother entry/exit with Nidecker’s popular Supermatic binding line. Finally, a Vibram ICE-TREK rubber compound delivers the best grip in the business.
Tester Verdict
Terry Hartley
“In my case, simplicity is key. I really don’t like faffing about with shit and when you get a pair of boots that actually fit great on your feet and are super easy to get on I’m sold. Out of all the boots I tried this season, these were definitely my favourites.”
Deeluxue ID PRO Women
PRICE: €399.95 / $450 / £364.99
FLEX: 5/10
LACING SYSTEM: BOA
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose the Deeluxe ID Pro Women’s Snowboard Boots:
Kevin Backstrom knows a thing or two (or seven million) about snowboarding, but we didn’t just choose his pro model boot because of him. The performance on offer here is genuinely top-notch.
Who Is The Deeluxe ID Pro Women’s for?
“One boot to rule them all, one boot to bind them”. One boot for every day of the season is more in tune with what we’ve got here. Mid-flexing, comfortable, durable and aesthetically pleasing, this one’s a winner.
Tech Talk
Shell, outsole, liner, construction materials and features
The best boots are the ones you can slip into, wear all day and not have to worry about; they’re comfortable from day one, and stay that way until you retire them. Deeluxe uses a plush 3F internal liner, a women’s-specific construction and a BOOST Tongue for consistent flex to ensure your boots are as cushy on the first day of the season as they are on the last.
Tester Verdict
Meagan Malone
“The Boost tongue keeps the flex through the entire lifetime of the boot… definitely felt the stiffness with the Boost tongue… great tech addition.”
