Why We Chose The Union Reset Pro Boots:

Returning for its sophomore year, this Italian-made masterpiece looks set to remain right at the front of the pack. Clever, classy, and built to last.

Who Is The Union Reset Pro Boots For?

It’s a fairly stiff model best suited to the more confident riders out there, but it doesn’t demand a specialism, so expect to see plenty of these in the park and in the pow. Fans of bleeding-edge tech will no doubt be drawn to this one, too.

Shell and outsole:

The Union Reset Pro’s key selling point is its outer shell made primarily from Pebax – a material so durable and lightweight that it’s been widely adopted by the world’s biggest running shoe manufacturers. From day one to 100, it will hold on to its (stiff) flex, while also keeping all snow, ice and water at bay. The use of stitching and adhesives have been reduced to the bare minimum, and it’s all presented in a proper ankle-shaped design. Capping it all off is a double Boa lacing system that is the go-to choice for those who want to fine tune their fit.

New for 2026/27 is a Vibram-enhanced sole. While not that chunky, it’s grippy enough to improve board contact, as well as prevent you slipping out while hiking the pipe or a stairset. Extra cushioning – targeted at the heel and ball of your foot up to your toes – helps to reduce the risk of injury from heavy impacts.

Liner:

All of the above sits around a liner that’s absolutely chocka with memory foam. Simply stick your foot in it and it’ll conform to your every contour, without packing out over time. Your heel will go nowhere too, thanks to the shape and composition of the foam that your ankle sits in. There’s even more of that stuff in the tongue, giving you something comfortable and reliable to push against when on your toe side.

Speaking of your foot-digits, ever had cold ones when riding? It’s no fun at all – both uncomfortable, and makes riding a bit like driving with a dodgy steering wheel. A foam layer directly under your foot heeps the heat in, making it more likely you’ll stay in control all day.

It’s all sealed up with the winning combination of quick lace and powerstrap, which deliver a true ‘set it and forget it’ level of security.

“Like a concept car, it might be a glimpse of what’s to come for the wider snowboard market.”

Roundup:

From its application of next-gen materials to Travis Rice’s hands-on role of ‘Creative Innovation Director [pedantry note – is ‘non-creative innovation’ even possible?], Union’s boot division is clearly no afterthought. As its highest-spec model the Union Reset Pro represents the best of what this monster push for boot perfection has delivered so far. Like a concept car, it might be a glimpse of what’s to come for the wider snowboard market. For now, though, it’s a terrific option for seasoned shredders that will spare no expense to get the performance they need.

Tester Verdict

Kevin Frank

“The Reset Pro is very expensive, but claims that its unique design will allow you to get more riding days that anything else on the market. I am happy to report that beyond the liner packing out slightly, the boots are holding up well, with very little change to the boots flex over half a season of riding.

The boots are extremely comfy out of the box and offer a ‘best of both worlds’ flex that feels just as at home tweaking grabs as freeriding. Because they are so low volume, they can be a bit colder in the low temps, but in my experience it’s worth it for a shape fits extremely well in bindings. I’m absolutely loving them so far, and if they last as long as Union is claiming they are absolutely worth the money.”
