Dragon DX3 2019-2020 Snowboard Goggles Review

Why we chose the Dragon DX3 Snowboard Goggles: Big Bang for ya Buck $$

Making sure you’ve got some good eye protection is imperative when setting out for a days riding, whether is flat light or beaming sunshine you’re gonna need something to help you see.

“These lil’ beauties from Dragon are crazy cheap”

The great debates rage on – frames VS frameless, cylindrical lens VS spherical lens, but at the end of the day it’s all preference. One thing we’re sure everyone can agree on is price. These lil’ beauties from Dragon are crazy cheap. But don’t take that to mean they’re not well made – they use Dragon’s signature LUMALENS technology, which provides superior colour contrast and incredible visual clarity. They offer a crazy wide field of vision as well, so you’ll be able to see more peripherally than normal.

The lenses are super durable as well, as they’ve been given a hard coating to prevent scratches, they also repel water, dust, dirt and oil. Sounds good? Yeah, we thought so too.

The frame is an OTG fit, so you’ll be able to rock most glasses underneath if need be. Around the frame they’ve laid a dual layer face foam, which is hypoallergenic. It also helps to wick sweat away from your face, keeping them more comfy and helping stop condensation forming inside.

“Dragon have added the cherry on the cake with their Super Anti Fog coating on the lenses”

A foggy lens has been the bane of many a snowboarders life, it seems like it can be a never ending problem. Dragon have added the cherry on the cake with their Super Anti Fog coating on the lenses. This goggle may not have the surplus features we’ve seen in recent years, but it also doesn’t carry the huge price tag associated with them. If you’re looking for a goggle that is insane value for money – this is it.

Tester’s Verdict

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“The Dragon DX3’s look a bit more old-school-ish compared to all the more recent all-face-covering goggles. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that goggles nowadays do cover half of your face, and I’ve slowly been drifting away from the smaller models. However, the Dragon DX3’s were a very pleasant surprise, and got me re-evaluation my choice of abandoning the OG goggle model.

“I was really surprised when I found out the price of these things – they are cheap!”

I was really surprised when I found out the price of these things – they are cheap!!! And considering how good they were – these are the definition of money well spent. The only thing you won’t be getting with the cheap price tag is the option of swopping lenses, but to be fair, we survived quite a few years without the ‘unswoppable’ goggle lens option, so it’s not the end of the world.

All in all, I’m super stoked that Dragon’s finally launched a cheaper goggle to complement their line.”
