UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Burton Mission here
If the Burton Mission was a soldier, it’d be one that’s already done countless tours of duty and will happily sign up for more. Its consistency and longevity has made it one of the world’s best known snowboard bindings, and one we’re always happy to put our trust in.
“This does a great job of cancelling out the worst chatter from riding”
The Burton Mission has a more traditional baseplate construction than the Cartel or Malavita, one that’s still packed with excellent cushioning. The disc-free EST version seen here is only compatible with Burton Channel boards, and does a great job of cancelling out the worst chatter from riding, while the Re:Flex version is the only men’s binder to feature a special dampening pad underfoot.
If you like a bit of padding to your ankle strap, the Burton Mission has you covered. It’s no marshmallow, however, so there’s still plenty of response, and the shape gives you increased support where it’s most needed. When you unstrap, it falls away from the footbed to give you clear access for the next time you want to fasten up.
The highback is a little less pared-back than those found elsewhere in the line, but that translates to a predictable flex that’s easy to get your head around. Should you want a bit of forward lean, the tool-free system is a piece of cake.
Comfortable and reliable, the Burton Mission remains a fine choice for all levels of rider.
