After Burton dropped what was quite possibly the teaser of the year on us a couple of weeks ago, the wait for the first episode of this year’s Burton Presents… is finally here. Jussi Oksanen and Mikey Rencz teaming up for some powdery backcountry fun!
Ten minutes of epic backcountry fun is what it is, both guys using years of experience to plow perfectly through the deep stuff.
The pair are both masters of the powder booter, so after a rad five minutes of pillow lines and drops – including an unreal frontside butter through a stack by Jussi at 4.50 – it’s on to the BC booters!
This is where Mikey’s huge stack from the teaser pops up (8.50), sending it as far as we’ve seen possibly since Gigi’s massive overshoot. No worries though as he pops back up again to chuck a perfect frontside 540 off on the next hit.
There’s so much rad stuff in this short – Jussi’s flawless front threes, Rencz’s gigantic back three off a natural hit 2.15 in – but the real beauty is Burton moving the online model in the way we’ve wanted to see it go: pairing amazing riding with great but simple shooting and letting that do the work. A picture is worth a thousand words, video a million, and we’re speechless.
