The Burton Process aka Mark McMorris’s other half. Now, we’re not saying riding one of these will make your ride like Mark, but it’s worth a try, right? Whether you’re wanting shred the park or simply cruise around on the groomers, the Burton Process will guarantee you a sweet time- brace yourself for a fun, forgiving, ride).

“This is a reliable all mountain board, providing both pop and precision”

With camber between the feet and a short flat profile near the contact points, Burton have put a playful twist on a powerful profile. The flat parts at both ends soften the transition before the early rise at tip and tail and with a combination of strong and light wood in the core, you end up with a stable and lightweight ride.

The Process is no one trick pony. With a sintered base you’ll be guaranteed speed, while the poppy profile makes sure you can both jib your way through the park or stomp the kicker line without any problems. The triax fiberglass makes the board slightly stiffer and adds to its responsiveness, while the frostbite edges provides greater control.

The Burton Process, just like the Burton Custom, is one of the flagship models in Burton’s men’s line. No surprise there though, this is a reliable all mountain board providing first-rate pop and precision. Think about it. If Mr. McMorris is riding this stick, there’s no doubting its brilliance. It’s also available in Burton’s Flying V profile, for those who are after a more rocker dominant feel.

Tester’s Verdict

Rob McCreathWhitelines

“I challenge anyone to get on this board and have a bad time. Burton seem to have cracked the code with the profile, flex and shape with this one. Whether you’re spending a day in the park or slashing sidecountry when the snow gods deliver, the Process just gets around the mountain with ease.

I was out working in Tignes when this one arrived at the door. I took it out for a day, fully intending to pop it back in the box when I was done but ended up riding it right through for the rest of the week. In that time, I taught beginners, intermediates, freestyle and even had some time to blast a couple laps at the end of each day. There genuinely wasn’t a single moment in that week where I felt held back by the Process.

“Who’s it for? Anyone and everyone that doesn’t want to pigeon hole their riding to the furthest reaches of the snowboarding spectrum”

I totally get that some riders look for that zero-compromise, tech-laden, bruiser to ride the mountain like it insulted your mother. But honestly, how many of us really need that kind of board? It’s flexible and forgiving enough to ride at 60% and is super fun for jibbing down the home, and still has enough performance for giving it the beans.

Who’s it for? Anyone and everyone that doesn’t want to pigeon hole their riding to the furthest reaches of the snowboarding spectrum. If it’s good enough for Marky Mark, it’s good enough for me.”

Tester’s Verdict 2018/19

Matt Higsonsnowboard-asylum.com

“Once again Burton has done it with the Process. It’s the perfect blend of all-mountain performance and freestyle progression.

“It never let me down – from the deepest days through to end-of-season spring laps”

I’ve rode the Process with either the Malavita (when riding the park) or the new Step On system (all other times) for most of last winter, and it never let me down – from the deepest days through to end-of-season spring laps.

The biggest thing I noticed with this season’s Process is that it does feel a touch stiffer than before, so bear that in mind.”
