The aptly named Sims ATV does exactly what it says on the tin- it’s your all-terrain vehicle. Whether it’s playing around through the park, throwing up big slashes through pristine powder pockets or ripping up the early morning corduroy- the ATV is willing and able to get the goods.

Sims emerged from the primordial ooze of snowboarding as one of the OG brands, going toe to toe with the ‘Big B’ through the early years. Now, they’re back and better than ever, with a saucy new pro team and a line of boards that are set to blow their competitors out the water. Blending nostalgic vibes and new school construction, the Sims ATV brings a healthy dose of Tom Sims vibrancy back to the industry.

The ATV boasts a classic full camber profile, the de facto choice of many aggressive riders, it’s a commonly agreed upon fact that camber offers the most pop, control and precision in a snowboard. Although it may not be as forgiving as a board with rockered tips, the ATV isn’t about sugar coating things and holding your hand, this is old school performance and power.

The positive camber profile and milled out tips are where the ATV gets its freestyle chops. It’s always springloaded, ready to bounce out and pop off of anything and everything, with the lightweight tips reducing swing weight for more control in the air and a softer zone to press and butter on.

While the graphics are definitely a funky little throwback, what’s going on under the hood is very much up to date. Tip to tail bamboo stringers run through the Masters core, giving you bags of snap and rebound through the body of the board. Bamboo is known for its high tensile strength, flexibility and the fact that it’s the Usain Bolt of the plant world- these properties make it not only a smart choice for use in snowboard cores, but also a sustainable one.

The ATV is built for all-mountain exploration, with the Premium Race Base and Tri-Tex fibreglass laminates bringing the speed and the lightning fast reactions when you’re pushing it. A long nose twin shape ensures it keeps its freestyle roots but allows for a more controlled and versatile ride across varied terrain. When the conditions are less than ideal, the ATV has its Snake Bite Tech 1.8– four distortions of the edge profile to increase traction points down the sidecut to give you more bite.

Coming in a whole buttload of sizes, the Sims ATV is fun for the whole family across the whole mountain. As a brand, Sims have always embodied the true core of snowboarding- with the best graphics, the premium tech, the heaviest pro team, and most importantly they’re always having the most fun.
