New for 2020/21 the NOW Pro-Line is the latest in JF Pelchat’s revolutionary binding line up. The softest binding in the NOW men’s range, the Pro-Line is ideal for novice riders or those who prioritise a mellow and playful feel and don’t fancy shelling out tons of cash.

An easy-going all-mountain option, the Pro-Line will take you from your first day on the hill, all the way to first descents and stomps. This is your budget friendly go anywhere, do anything binding designed to build confidence and skill.

“When push comes to shove, it’s this innovative Hanger that sets NOW apart from competitors”

JF Pelchat has always stood out from the crowd, and since the inception of NOW, he’s made sure his products do as well. Like all NOW offerings, the Pro-Line use the proprietary SkateTech technology. When push comes to shove, it’s this innovative Hanger that sets NOW apart from competitors.

Built around a nylon Hanger with 15% glass fibre, the Pro-Line features a central kingpin which acts as the pivot point for the binding. Unlike traditional bindings, which utilise stiff baseplates, the Pro-Line directs all energy to the four corner bushings. This allows the board to flex naturally underfoot and stops energy transmission being lost in translation, giving you more response with less effort.

As you roll from heel to toe, the Pro-Line works with you, and focuses the movement right to the edges. The kingpin acts like a fulcrum giving high levels of power transmission and increased efficiency. The bushings themselves are interchangeable, and the Pro-Line comes with the softer 40 shore model as standard. As your riding style changes you can swap them out for stiffer ones if you’re looking for more response or a more aggressive feel.

“Despite its modest price tag, the Pro-Line still packs a pretty nifty punch”

The way the Pro-Line Hanger works stops you from having to crank your straps down super tight to get a responsive feel. As such, they use stripped back toe straps that grip round the front of your boot to keep it snug inside. And the ankle straps are their own Sieva style, moulding around your foot and eliminating hotspots and pressure points.

The Hanger transitions into the heelcup with the FM Highback sitting into it. The asymmetric shape is anatomically designed to follow the angles of your leg and gives more support where you need it. Notches in the sides of the highback let it flex easier for a more playful freestyle feel, you can tweak and poke to your hearts content with these bad boys.

If you’re looking to charge hard and really blast all over the mountain, you’d do better with one of the more aggressive options in the line, like the Drive or the Recon, but for those who are still finding their feet on the hill, the Pro-Line is hard to beat. Despite its modest price tag, the Pro-Line still packs a pretty nifty punch, this is pro level tech and performance coupled with a wallet friendly label.
