Smith I/O7 2015-2016 Snowboard Goggle Review

Frendly option

The Details:

The goggle of choice for pipe-jock-turned-powder-hunter Scotty Lago, the Smith I/O7 is a medium-fit model a large spherical lens, so you get a huge field of vision without losing your entire face in the frame.

Changing the lens is as simple as spinning the fastener on the top of the frame and popping it out, then turning it back to where it was once the new lens is in place. Given that it comes with two lenses as standard, you’ll have all you need for variable conditions.

As Smith also make helmets, you can combine these with one of their lids for a seamless fit. There’s a pivot point on each side of the frame, where it meets the strap, so it’ll always sit comfortably on your face.

The Smith I/O7 also comes in 18 different colourways, so there’s bound to be one that works for you.

“I have used Smith goggles for years and love my I/Os, so was intrigued to try the new pimped up version.

The peripheral vision is even better than that of the I/O, and the frame is very comfy. Like all Smiths there was never a hint of steaming up, and the low-light Red Sensor lens that I used was crystal clear.

But while the lens changing was very quick and easy, the clip on the centre of the goggle felt flimsy to me. It’s also way too small to use with gloves on.”
