Dragon X2 2015-2016 Snowboard Goggle Review

UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2017/2018 Dragon X2 here

Some goggles are identifiable from a distance, thanks to the shape of the frame – but even with its ‘frameless’ design, you can still pick the Dragon X2 goggle out in a crowd.

These are slightly larger than average, so will suit anyone going for that look, but aren’t so crazy huge that you can’t wear them with a helmet. Whatever you go for, the silicon on the inside of the strap – in a honeycomb pattern for extra grip – will prevent any slipping while you’re on the mountain.

The lens change system is one of the quickest around, with two small levers at each side with hold the lens in place. Flick them down and the lens comes out, then pop the new one in and flick them up again. Simples.

There’s Dragon’s usual 100% UV protection, plus a huge choice of extra lenses that you can buy separately.

TESTER’S VERDICT:
Ed Leigh – BBC

“Anyone who has ridden with me knows I have an OCD about goggle lenses and can always be found with at least three options on my person.

With these, the main selling point for me is the speed of the lens change; two levers and they pop out. After riding these all last winter I didn’t experience one incident of fogging (which, considering my favourite conditions are heavy-snow tree days, is quite incredible).

The modern evolution of goggles means that with such a huge surface area you have more venting, but still I was very impressed.

Frameless fit is lovely, and peripheral vision is no longer an issue.”
