Why we chose the Giro Method Snowboard Goggles: Super affordable meets super stylish and super tech.
It’d be fair to say that Giro products have been more commonly found in the heart of the peloton than the drop-in of the super pipe. This year’s all-new Method goggle signifies a change of direction for the brand. With the helping artistic hand of legendary skater, snowboarder and artist, John Cardiel, they’ve gone straight for snowboarding’s jugular and launched a goggle “designed with the core rider in mind”. Hands down, this was our test team’s favourite looking goggle of the year, with a lens that could just about make a dog see colour.

It’s clearly tapping into the freestyle end of the market – just take the name, for starters. The frame is designed to sit as close to your head as possible to provide the maximum field of view for spotting your landings out the corners of your eye. Whichever ever way you’re looking, the Vivid technology has been given the once over from the world-renowned Zeiss Optics, so contrast and clarity don’t come much sharper than they do with these lenses – of which you get two.
