Our pick of this season's best Dragon snowboard gear

Founded in a garage, like it seems most action sports companies are, Dragon Alliance came from the need of a company that provided the best product to the athletes that needed them, whilst still remaining connected to the core of snowboarding.

Whilst not initially coming to the goggle/snowboard market, founder Will Howard soon saw the potential in the snowboard market and began hunting down riders for his team and shops to distribute the goggles to the masses. With two snowboarding legends Jamie Lynn and Chris Roach on the first-ever Dragon team roster, it wasn’t a surprise that Dragon took off quicker than a Finnish kid hitting a hip.

In recent times, it has to be Dragons frameless goggle – the APX – that has led the designers and manufacturers to reassess the way that they approach goggle design. With a frameless design, the APX had unrivalled field of vision for the wearer and surprisingly didn’t make you look like a bug when you wore them.

Dragon took a leaf out of competitor DC Shoes books and snapped up some prime retail high up in the Silverton Mountains back in 2011. The lodge now serves as an R&D facility for the product developers and is probably the kick-off point for many a shredventure for Dragon Alliance riders. And as for riders, Jamie Lynn is still on the team and backed up by a diverse assemblage of bosses like Gigi Rüf, Danny Davis, Leanne Pelosi, Blake Paul, and Bryan Iguchi.

Dragon RVX Mag Snow Goggles 2022-2023

Price: £210 / €260

‘Magnetic goggles’ were for a long time, on every snowboarder’s fantasy wishlist. For the best part of the last decade though, it’s been a reality. Amazingly, eyewear behemoth Dragon hadn’t yet taken the plunge, relying instead on its quick-release ‘Swiftlock’ lens change system.

Who Are the Dragon RVX Mag Goggles For?

Dragon has garnered a legion of fans thanks to its consistent quality across multiple sports, and we have no doubt they’ll be frothing at what is now the daddy of the Dragon range. Thanks to notches in the face foam, these are also ideal for those who sport a set of Gregory Pecks on the mountain (OTG = Over The Glasses).
