Night Fury – A Snowboard Horror Movie

Here’s something you may not have seen before… This is the trailer for Night Fury, a snowboard horror film, shot at night, in the Niseko backcountry, Japan.

The Evil Snow Phantom has lured them in with his back country traps, built to excite the three riders and take their mind off the ever present danger.

Bizarrely it’s not some doomed Kickstarter project – as you can see it’s been funded by Burton and Red Bull – and it will actually be hitting screens/laptops come autumn.

The visuals actually look amazing, like in the last Every Third Thursday episode deep powder shot at night can look incredible.

Whilst voiceovers and acting are famously not the strong suites of professional snowboarders, hopefully this will focus on the shred more than the cringe-worthy cut scenes.

Who know’s what the ‘Evil Snow Phantom’ will be? As the three riders – Nick Brown, Jacob Koia and Connor Harding – are all Kiwis, we’re hoping it won’t be all that serious in the end.

For the skate film nerds amongst you, this could be an elaborate tribute to Steve Berra’s opening skit from Birdhouse’s 1999 epic ‘The End’, you can find it below, a classic skate part if ever there was one.
