Not so long ago, few people had heard of Helen Schettini. Three years down the line, she’s fast becoming one of the hardest hitting female backcountry riders out there.

As we discussed last month, it’s notoriously tough for women to carve out a professional snowboarding career riding backcountry alone. But Helen is smashing through gender barriers by being one of the few women doing just that. As she says in the video above, “I’d rather try something and scare the shit out of myself than not do it at all.” Well said.
