Admittedly this did slip under our radar, but seeing as it was posted in Japanese I think we can be forgiven. This is Burton Japan’s introductory/pre-Olympic smack talk video to young halfpipe superstar and very possible podium contender Ayumu Hirano.
Kazuhiro Kokobu’s 15 year-old protege is very likely to take a medal in the Olympic halfpipe in Sochi; although he’s never had a proper match up with both Shaun White and I-Pod this video shows he has the tricks in his arsenal to do so.
It doesn’t go so far as to show him landing a yolo-flip but it does imply that he can, plus what really got us going was the sneaky clip of him attempting a triple into an airbag at the end. THAT would surely be an upset for Shaun White’s Sochi goals.
