It’s the event we have all been waiting for – the creme de la creme of snowboard events – the Burton US Open. Since first hosted back in 1982, on a tiny little mountain by the name of Suicide Six in central Vermont, snowboarding has come a long way, and so has the event too. This year, the 38th annual Burton US Open will be back in Vail, Colorado from the 24th to the 29th of February.
“For this year we can expect even more creativity from the updated slopestyle course”
“I can’t wait to get back to the Burton U·S·Open. It’s my favourite event of the year. Winning last year was a dream come true and I’m just amped to get back and ride the best course with all my friends!” – Red Gerard, Slopestyle Champion 2019.
This year we can expect even more creativity from the updated slopestyle course. Based on rider feedback, the shapers have been busy making the course faster and more flowy throughout. We are in for a treat watching both Red Gerard and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott defending their titles against a heavy set up of riders including Mark McMorris and Anna Gasser.
