Victor Daviet’s second instalment of the cleverly named DVD Videos (Daviet Victor Digital Videos) series has just dropped and, like the previous episode, it’s an equally ambitious video project that yields beautiful results.
Edited and shot by Tom Granier, APOLLO 21 sees Daviet and fellow rider Enzo Nilo float and fly over the night-time slopes of Tignes, all while being bathed in the stunning glow of the full moon. The ‘Snowboard Mission on the Moon’ is a unique idea everyone can appreciate. The alien thrill of riding in the inky midnight darkness is something not many of us have experienced, but it’s something APOLLO 21 casts as an artful and serene experience.

By Daviet’s own admission, creating the project was a “true mission”. Having to find the perfect spots, calculate the moon’s trajectory, use the correct shooting equipment, make sure the weather was perfect; it all adds up. However, the results speak for themselves, and the DVD series continues to shed light on the beautiful and natural simplicity of snowboarding.
