The rocker sections at the nose and tail are very short, with the emphasis on the benefits of camber, but they’re not anonymous. When you want to press a rail, or the piste, then they offer a helping hand, and they also make the board less twitchy at high speed than something with a true twin shape but heaps of camber might otherwise feel.

As is so often the case with Salomon boards, the Huck Knife also represents a great deal. You wouldn’t expect something this light, durable, fast and downright fun to ride to clock in at that price, but it does. No wonder it’s selling like hot cakes.

Finally, not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but it looks even better this year too. The topsheet design is more modern, but still very Huck Knife, while the base has gone full monochrome. Two thumbs up from us.
