http://mpora.com/videos/w5iz423y7 Unlike the slopestyle which was dominated by Americans, the halfpipe event at the Burton Canadian Open was a much more multicultural affair with Fin Janne Korpi and local Sarah Conrad taking the Mini Creative Use of Space award.
We aren’t exactly sure what the judges were basing the “creativity” on, considering the slopestyle event was based around a specially designed park feature, but the duo clearly did enough to walk away with the cool $2500 cash prize. Korpi took the money with a backside alley oop rodeo (yes, really), while Conrad threw down an alley oop 7. Riders at future events should take note, Mini clearly like alley oops so maybe that holds the key to winning the award, as obviously Queralt Castellet’s 10 (only the second woman to throw it down in a pipe comeptition) wasn’t enough.
