Union Neo
PRICE: £319.99 / €349.95 / $379.95
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 6/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: Yes

Why We Chose The Union Neo Bindings:
A true all-mountain option with fresh tech, we’re expecting this one to turn more heads than the woman in the red dress.
Who Is The Union Neo Binding For?
The Neo is the latest entry in Union’s high-performance range, built for those who’ve been through a broken component or two and would prefer not to repeat the process. It’s also a little softer than the others in the stable, so would really suit those who prefer surfier turns to straightline-charging.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials, step-in system and features
While the Union Neo shares a lot of DNA with the Ultra, the big difference is the new three-part baseplate which allows the board to flex more naturally, and your weight to shift more freely along the length of the board. It also does a neat job of soaking up vibrations.
Tester Verdict
Kevin Frank
“The Neo takes all the comfort and freestyle performance of the Ultra and places it in a more freeride-tinged package. An exceptional binding for someone looking for an all-mountain option that blends freestyle and freeride performance with immaculate comfort, and enough response to keep you charging hard.”

Rome Katana Pro
PRICE: $469.95 / €429.95
SIZES: S, M/L, L/XL
FLEX: 7-9/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Rome Katana Pro Bindings:
Rome’s legendary Katana Pro delivers carbon-enhanced performance with the flexibility to adapt from mid-stiff to stiff flex, making it a true chameleon for riders who demand the ultimate in versatility and response.
Who Is The Rome Katana Pro For?
Advanced riders seeking maximum adjustability and all-terrain performance. The Katana Pro suits riders who want one binding capable of handling everything from powder surfing to resort ripping to park sessions, with the ability to fine-tune fit and feel on the fly.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials, step-in system and features
The Katana Pro is based on Rome’s innovative AsymWrap chassis, which features three baseplate connection points for enhanced lateral feel – letting you express yourself when turning and really tweak out tricks. At the same time, 30% carbon construction in the baseplate ensures excellent power transfer from toe to heel. A fully-adjustable aluminium heelcup dovetails with yet more carbon in the highback, which is sleek and stylish and boasts tool-free forward lean. PivotMount technology provides eight different ankle strap positions per side, creating 64 total adjustment options – an unmatched level of customization in traditional bindings. OmniFlex ankle straps use next-generation AuxTech patterns with a TPU spine for responsive torsional flex, while ProGrip toe straps provide locked-in hold. All in all, this is a great-looking piece of industrial design that’s been fine-tuned to something approaching perfection.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“This is consistently one of the most dynamic bindings in the whole industry. The toe-heel response is lightning fast, while the AsymWrap allows plenty of space for tweaking. They’re super adjustable – you can even change them from a mid-stiff to a stiff flex if you pull the ankle strap higher, which is an awesome addition. They also feature, in my opinion, the best iteration of Rome’s AuxTech straps, and are undoubtedly the most comfortable bindings I tested this winter. I feel confident taking them from powder, to carving, to jumps and rails. A true daily driver.”
Burton Cartel
PRICE: £310 / €300 / $259.95
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 7/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Burton Cartel Bindings:
A true classic that eschews gimmicks and baubles in favour of a proven platform that puts the rider experience first. Essentially, it ain’t (and never will be) broke.
Who Is The Burton Cartel Binding For?
Both the Mission and the Cartel could make a case for being Burton’s flagship binder – but we reckon the Cartel just shades it for riders that want to take on the bigger stuff. This one is also ideal for anyone who’s a bit sentimental about veteran-level gear. If the Cartel goes, we riot!
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
This one hasn’t changed much in the last few years, and that’s no bad thing. The Burton Cartel offers a close-to-perfect mix of comfort and control. Getting those lightweight straps and supportive highback to fit just right is a breeze, while underfoot cushioning keeps things comfy without too much of a drop in boardfeel.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“A really good binding, and a staple in the Burton line for a reason. They’re the Ronseal – they do exactly what it says on the tin! Comfortable, with enough response and playfulness”
Drake Radar
PRICE: TBC
SIZES: L, XL
FLEX: 9/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Drake Radar Bindings:
A serious binding for serious riders, the Drake Radar is now better than ever. From its rigid flex pattern to its oddly intimidating, Nemesis-esque all-white colourway, this one’s a beast.
Who Is The Drake Radar Binding For?
These are pretty full-on, with the kind of stiffness that really only suits confident, consequential riding. And if you have Princess-and-the-Pea levels of sensitivity to unnecessary weight, then so much the better. Quite a niche target market, then – but those that qualify will surely adore the Radar.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
Drake has managed to shave off grammes just about everywhere, but no more so than in the straps. The new Optimus ankle strap is a mind-boggling 60% lighter than what came before, with a 40% reduction in that of the toe strap. While we’re not talking masses of weight savings overall, every little helps.
Tester Verdict
Ed Leigh
“This is a very stiff binding, in almost all the right places, with a brilliant boot-binding-board interface. Super responsive, and with very easy tool-free adjustment. One downside was they could be considered too stiff to be truly ‘all-mountain’ – so great for blasting, but less so for being playful in the park.”
Nidecker Orbit Pro
PRICE: £289.99 / €299.95 / $299.95
SIZES: M, L, XL
FLEX: 8/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: Yes

Why We Chose The Nidecker Orbit Pro Bindings:
Nidecker’s flagship freestyle binding pairs a stripped-back, lightweight chassis with genuine stiffness and endless adjustability. It’s a purist’s dream.
Who Is The Nidecker Orbit Pro For?
Confident park/all-mountain riders who appreciate Nidecker’s binding engineering but prefer a classic two-strap to the convenience of Supermatic. The Orbit Pro tailors to even the fussiest of freestylers, with a customizable heelcup and independently adjustable footbed that let you dial in an exact fit, while its stiffer highback brings the support needed for bigger features.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
The ‘Module’ baseplate combines glass-infused nylon underfoot with an aluminium heelcup offering a choice of three positions. The footbed doubles down on the adjustability theme, with separate front and rear sections that slide apart for a genuinely custom fit. A glass-reinforced highback brings stiff, precise response with four forward-lean settings and ‘Gecko Grip’ on the inside to keep your heel locked down. A single-piece Exo-Frame Pro ankle strap does a good job of keeping pressure spread and the weight down, while the Hexo Toecap 2.0 toe strap can be flipped around for a better fit depending on the shape of your boots. Tough aluminium ratchets deliver a reliably smooth action – because who needs speed entry anyway?
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“Just a cracking pair of bindings – responsive, comfortable, with enough play to enjoy getting creative. No complaints. I dug the colours too.”
Amplid Proton
PRICE: £259 / €289 / $289
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 6/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Amplid Proton Bindings:
The name makes sense; while largely unsung and anonymous, a solid binding is a fundamental building-block for a good day’s riding – and the Proton will do just that.
Who Is The Amplid Proton For?
Picture the snowboarding equivalent of a flashy city-trader wanker. Got it? OK, now picture whatever the exact opposite of that is, and that’s who these are for. These monochrome delights are all about dependability, functionality and comfort, at a price you won’t feel the need to brag about in a private member’s club.
Tech Talk
A solid-as-hell aluminium heelcup connects a baseplate and highback that are mostly nylon, with a bit of carbon and fibreglass thrown in for added response. So it’s largely tried-and-tested tech, albeit slightly souped up. The hexagonally-patterned straps are as minimalist as they come, and will hug any boot with ease.
Tester Verdict
Ed Leigh
“I absolutely loved these! Super simple with no frills, tool-free adjustment. The straps are super comfy, offering a very direct feel. I highly recommend these.”
Union Atlas Pro
PRICE: £429.99 / €469.95 / $499.95
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 9/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Union Atlas Pro Bindings:
The Atlas, but more so: this souped-up supercharger of a binding is not for the faint of heart. For the right rider, though, it’s an absolute worldie.
Who Is The Union Atlas Pro Binding For?
This one sits firmly in the ‘give it everything you’ve got’ category. The Union Atlas Pro is light of weight but heavy on response, with a rigid carbon footbed that’ll deliver rapid edge changes when there’s absolutely zero margin for error. If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, check out the regular Atlas which is just a little more forgiving.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
That carbon footbed is the main step up in tech from the standard Atlas, but look closer and you’ll spot a couple more upgrades. It’s got a swisher forward lean adjustment on the highback (which itself has ditched the regular model’s cutout for a firmer flex), and the ankle strap is a bit more substantial as well.
Tester Verdict
Henry Jackson
“Simply the best. They’ve got a stiff baseplate, so are very responsive: you think it, it does it. The straps are amazing too. So good!”
YES Select
PRICE: £234.95 / €269.95 / $249.95
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 6/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Traditional
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose the YES Select Bindings:
YES has scaled down their offering for 26/27, but the Select survived the cull, and it’s for good reason. This is a freestyle-focused binding that doesn’t get lost outside the confines of the park ropes.
Who Is The YES Select For?
You like to do a bit of it all, but lean more toward the playful, freestyle end of the spectrum rather than the hard-charging freeride end.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
YES’ Skate Tech uses a kingpin to act as a fulcrum to effectively transfer energy from heel to toe. This not only smooths out your carves for cruisy turns, but also allows you to drive into turns, and the lack of a traditional baseplate means your board can flex naturally underfoot. Mid-flexing and geared towards playful riding, the Select offers progression without punishment.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“Super light and comfortable. Perfect binding for intermediate resort cruising or freestyle. My only negative is the toecap didn’t feel like a perfect fit. Otherwise, great binding that does exactly what you want.”
Bent Metal Metta
PRICE: €219.99 / £199.99 / $239.99
SIZES: S/M, M/L
FLEX: 5/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Traditional
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose the Bent Metal Metta Bindings:
We like to call this one ‘The Goldilocks’- not too soft, not too stiff, juuuust right.
Who Is The Bent Metal Metta For?
You’re looking for a do-it-all binding for any and every day of the season. The versatility here means these are a great option for riders who’re a bit of a Jill of all trades and like to dip their toes into park, piste and pow, but don’t like to pigeonhole their riding style.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
One of the great things about Bent Metal bindings is their Flex Drive baseplates, which are essentially mini snowboards under each of your feet to help transfer energy efficiently and prevent any ‘dead spots’. Pair this with the mid-flex and malleable straps, and you’ve got a super versatile binding that stays comfy and keeps movement dynamic in a range of terrain.
Tester Verdict
Maria Kuzma
“These are softer bindings that felt great paired with the Barrett Gnu … all-around perfect bindings.”
Nitro Talent
PRICE: $180
SIZES: S, M, L
FLEX: 4/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The Nitro Talent Bindings:
Bindings are the most overlooked bit of kit, especially by those starting out. The new Nitro Talent ensures that improvers have a solid platform upon which to build.
Who Is The Nitro Talent For?
The aforementioned progressing riders will like this one for its ease of use and easygoing flex, but even more experienced snowboarders will enjoy this one – especially if they’re looking to keep costs down without entering flimsy territory. Six – yes, six – different colourways mean that there’s a Talent to suit any setup.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials, step-in system and features
Nitro does some seriously impressive binding tech – and while you won’t find some of it on the Talent for obvious reasons, the build is still more than capable of handling heavy use. EVA dampening is as proven as they come, the aluminium heelcup is as strong as an ox, and the straps are both light and comfy.
Tester Verdict
Kevin Frank
“The Nitro Talent serves as a good price-point binding. I felt they performed very well, and would not hesitate to recommend these to any beginner to intermediate snowboarding looking for a do-it-all option. As with most bindings of its type, I did find the straps and footbed to be a little bare-boned in terms of comfort. However, in comparison to other bindings in the same price range, the build quality is great for the cost!”
K2 BOND
PRICE: £250 / €295 / $330
SIZES: M, L
FLEX: 7/10
ENTRY SYSTEM: Classic
NEW FOR 26/27 SEASON: No

Why We Chose The K2 Bond Bindings:
This unisex model can turn its hand to anything, and also points to a more sustainable future for binding design. Prepare to give it full beans!
Who Is The K2 Bond bindings For?
If you prioritise boardfeel, even if it means a bit more foot fatigue over time, then the K2 Bond is worth a look. It facilitates your snowboard’s natural flex, while doing a bang-up job of cancelling out vibrations. Also, if eco-points are important to you, check out the straps and highbacks made from castor beans.
Tech Talk
Baseplate, straps, highback, construction materials and features
Most of the K2 Bond’s connection to your board is via a malleable material that’ll conform to the board as it bends, but targeted areas of ‘This Grips’ rubber compound keep it secure and improve response. The footbed is now twice as thick as it was last year, which is good news for your feet.
Tester Verdict
Meagan Malone
“There is nothing particularly special or hi-tech about these bindings, but that’s what I love about them. They are responsive, reliable, sleek and lightweight, with a gender-neutral look. They just work how they are supposed to work – an everyday binding for all conditions.”
