The Café Racer is KORUA’s carving missile. Built for turning, burning and churning up the groomers. Just about every snowboard to come out of Nicholas Wolken and Stephan Maurer’s line is designed for life on the edge, but this one is for the purists out there.
The directional tapered shape is loaded up with a full camber between the contact points. Turn initiation feels super smooth but, within a matter of seconds, the snowboard pulls you into the vortex. KORUA’s carving specific sidecut locks you in and ploughs through just about every kind of snow condition. And with the additional width underfoot there’s minimal chance of having your heels or toes dragging along the surface when you’re getting your lean on.

They haven’t just tapered the shape but made the tail stiffer, too. As a result, steering through the back-foot and squeezing those last few degrees out of the arc should come easily to those in the know. There’s still plenty going on up at the helm, too, though. The elongated, pointy tip helps keep you pushed up in the deep stuff so, like the rest of the red and white fleet, its limits extend far beyond the piste.
With a full poplar core and biax fibreglass layers, the Café Racer comes charged up with plenty of life inside, without all the bells and whistles that ultimately add to the overall weight of a snowboard. They’ve specced it up where it’s needed the most, though, fitting the underside with a super-fast 2000 sintered base.
New for last year, the Café Racer now comes in a smaller, women’s specific 144 size, spreading the carving revolution to the masses.
