One of the most iconic boards in the Jones range, if not the entire industry, the Flagship is the crème de la crème of women’s snowboarding. This tour de force takes the most premium materials, uses the most advanced manufacturing techniques and caters to the most gnarly women out there.
With its classic wood veneer topsheet, you could be forgiven for thinking this might be a relic from days gone by, but make no mistake the Jones Women’s Flagship is chock full of state-of-the-art tech. It’s a freeride weapon for those who refuse to pull punches.
“One of the most iconic boards in the Jones range, if not the entire industry”
Built for the steep and deep, the Flagship is engineered to float with the best of them. The elongated rocker zone in the nose is backed up by a 12.5mm taper and Jones’ proprietary 3D Contour Base 3.0 Technology. This bevels the edges in the nose and tail 7mm, creating a spoon-like shape to keep it planeing above the snow line. Jones have included an extra set of inserts set back down the Flagship for the deepest days.
The benefits of this 3D Contour are tenfold and can be felt all over the mountain. Not every day is going to be a nipple deep powder day, and the Flagship certainly won’t shy away from charging on piste. The spooned nose smooths out turn initiation and offers a silky feel through the arc of your turn, with Jones’s Traction Tech adding three extra contact points down the sidecut to increase the grip.
“If you’re a confident rider who prioritises speed, dexterity and raw power then look no further”
The Flagship has only one speed- top. The supercharged 9900 sintered base is a pure facemelter, luckily thanks to the narrower tail and triax laminates you’re getting a board that’s responsive and agile no matter how fast you’re pushing it.
The Flagship is an aggressive board, suited for powerful, aggressive riders. If you’re still getting to grips with sliding sideways the Flagship will chew you up and spit you out, but if you’re a confident rider who prioritises speed, dexterity and raw power then look no further.
