Why we chose the Nidecker Falcon Snowboard Boots: The only thing the Falcon doesn’t do is lace itself up ala Back to the Future.

Depending on who you are as a person, a certain image will appear when you think of the word falcon. If you’re a fan of our feathered friends you’ll think of the deadly bird of prey, if you’re a fan of nerdy sci-fi you’ll think of Star Wars and if you’re a fan of premium snowboard boots with a penchant for off track exploration you’ll think of this brand new Nidecker boot.

Everything about the Nidecker Falcon screams quality, from the innovative construction to the top shelf materials, this is a boot designed to go big, and then go home, over and over and over.

“The 3D tongue is ergonomically designed to work with your foot and ankle, locking them in and following the shape of your leg to avoid hotspots”

The buzzword with the Nidecker Falcon seems to be Asymmetric, the tongue and the liner, and even the way the boa tightens are firmly entrenched in camp off kilter. It makes sense though, when you think about it. Our bodies aren’t exactly symmetrical, so why should our kit be?

The 3D tongue is ergonomically designed to work with your foot and ankle, locking them in and following the shape of your leg to avoid hotspots. The liner has its own independent internal lacing system and a heel harness to minimise heel lift. The top of the liner boot is sealed with its own power strap, cinching the boot tight against your shin to eliminate any dead zones.

The liner itself is fully heat mouldable, upping the comfort levels and personalising the fit. Even if the out of the box feel is good, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The foam expands when heated and then cools and contracts to take the shape of your foot, finetuning the fit for day in day out comfort. When you’re spending long hours hiking lines, or skinning up you’ll say a little prayer to the Nidecker gods for making this boot not only functional, but absolutely luxurious.

Externally you’ve got the rugged Vibram sole, not only great for gripping when you’re tackling icy terrain (or car parks) but also insanely durable. The toe box is made of a hearty rubber that’ll keep its shape and won’t bust stitches when you’re kicking steps or from constant use of a toe strap.

“Nidecker have thought of absolutely everything with the Falcon. Seriously, we mean everything”

Nidecker have opted for a dual BOA system to tighten the shell, giving you the option to customise your fit and dial in your preference right down to the millimetre. Its quick, it’s easy and it’s secure. What more could you want?

Nidecker have thought of absolutely everything with the Falcon. Seriously, we mean everything. A pre-set 8 degrees of forward lean forces your knees into a bent position, mimicking a riding stance and driving more power through your turns. Triple density insole supports the foot and reduces fatigue, with Space Blanket Insulation keeping your tootsies nice and toasty. If that wasn’t enough you’ve also got cushioning foam under the ball of your foot and in the heel to soak up chatter and dampen your ride.

The Falcon really hits it out of the park, it’ll tick boxes you didn’t even know you had. Boots really are the most subjective and important bit of kit you’ll own, so do yourself a favour and check out these badboys.
