The Bataleon Storm is a piste smashing, pow slaying, trench digging weapon built to blow minds and rip shit up. Rooted in the scientific thought process of a snowboard in motion, it’s now a staple in the women’s Bataleon line up and is one of the most exciting boards to strap into in years.
Freeride 3BT and Sidekick dramatically uplift the side base outside of the bindings, which translates to incredible amounts of effortless float when you’re off the beaten track. Like the hull of a boat the snow shoots out the sides and keeps you planeing above the snowline with little to no effort.
“When it comes to speed the Storm is a face melter, so make sure you buckle up”
Not just a board for the nipple deep powder days, the Storm is geared up for tipping and gripping with the best of them. The positive camber injects a huge dose of life and aggression into the board, keeping slashes and turns dynamic and powerful. The pre angling of the sidebases with 3BT open you up for super smooth turn initiation, and the pressure down the whole sidecut is solid through the full arc of your turn. When it comes to speed the Storm is a face melter, so make sure you buckle up.
The inserts are set back down the board to keep your weight over the tail, so throw up 2 middle fingers to that haggard back leg burn when surfing the white wave. The backseat inserts are there for the deepest days, giving it a nose to rival a proboscis monkey. A slight taper keeps the tail sunk down and power through the back leg, but it isn’t detrimental to the board, so you won’t be tomahawking when you want to land switch off that backcountry booter.
“The barrier for entry is high and for the right rider the Storm will let you charge the gnarliest lines”
What’s an industry leading board without a bit of carbon? Carbon stringers are strategically placed in the nose and tail. They add pop and power to the back of the board and stiffen up the nose for increased response and drive. Hollow carbon rods are milled into the core making the camber more snappy and dampening the ride when the snow is less than ideal.
Aggressive and punchy, this isn’t a board for a novice rider, the barrier for entry is high but the right rider will be able to harness the unfettered power of the storm, charging the gnarliest lines and sending it down anything and everything. Whether the storm’s just rolled through and you’re left with 2 feet of freshies on a bluebird, or it’s hardpack and windswept The Bataleon Storm is a board you can rely on to deliver the goods and to have your back.
