The Salomon Launch BOA SJ is already a firm favourite amongst the freestyle fiends. This is one boot to do all in the park and beyond, and it’s back by popular demand and ready for lift off for the 2020 / 21 season.

Ready to go straight out the box with Salomon’s Fit to Ride System, it’s their promise to you that the Launch Boa will ride the exact same on day 50 as it does on day 1. By combining out the box comfort with new manufacturing process’ they ensure you get lightweight and compact boots, that are more durable than ever before.

“It’s their promise to you that the Launch Boa will ride the exact same on day 50 as it does on day 1”

A BOA lace is backed up with Salomon’s STR8JKT System for unrivalled heel hold. The front dial is used to control the lacing down the tongue, allowing you to dial in the perfect fit by micro adjusting the tightness. BOA allows for quick and easy adjustment, whether it’s cranking them tighter before dropping in, or loosening them off for a mid-afternoon beer.

The STR8JKT System has its own BOA for ease of use, and acts like a seatbelt stretching over your ankle joint and keeping your heel sitting comfortably in the back seat. This is music to your ears if you prefer to keep it loosey goosey up top but still want that control and precision on rails and take offs. Inside the liner, Salomon have added a nice grippy material at the heelside to stop your socks from sliding around in the liner.

On the softer end of the scale, the Launch Boa is ideal for freestylers who prioritise mellow flex and playful feel. They’re able to bend easier for presses, butters and tweaked out grabs, while having enough in the tank for big landings and jaunts out ripping up groomers.

Internally, the Launch Boa uses a fully heat mouldable liner and Ortholite C2 insoles. This liner is literally giving your foot a hug with its padded wrap around foam, and only gets comfier as you customise the fit.

“The shell itself is designed with a compact footprint, with the liner offset inside to reduce the overall size”

Coupled with the outer shells new lighter ‘less is more’ construction, which removes unnecessary materials for better performance, Salomon have managed to create a boot that is just as good out the box as it is at the end of the season. The shell itself is designed with a compact footprint, with the liner offset inside to reduce the overall size, great news if you’re right on the verge of wider boards.

The outsole promises to help cushion your landings thanks to its combination of rubber and EVA to smooth out vibrations and absorb any harsh impacts. Come off those features with cat-like abilities without the shockwaves of slapped landings.

So, if you are in the market for a freestyle boot that lets you take control of your riding check out the Launch BOA SJ, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
