LETS. GET. EXXXXTREME. X Games Norway 2019 was truly a spectacle, it was packed to the nips with action and will certainly be one for the books. If you tried to guess which winter sport would take place indoors, in a city centre in August you’d be forgiven if snowboarding wasn’t the first thing that sprung to mind. Yet, here we are. Oslo played host to the latest X Games bonanza and boy oh boy, was it a doozy. It’s hard to explain just how crazy this jump was, they busted open the roof and built scaffolding up and formed this insane kicker, covered in snow and eventually dry slope. To even stand up there is ball shrinkingly scary, but to actually hit that thing? We’re surprised there weren’t more brown stains on the run in.
The big story of the event has to be whizz kid Max Parrot’s big fat ‘FUCK YOU’ to cancer. He had his last chemotherapy session in June and only had weeks to recover and train for the event and waltzed away with a gold medal. Big up your bad self Max, you are an absolute boss.

The men’s Big Air line up was heavy, any one of the 10 riders could have walked away with the win, but only 6 could make it through to finals. Honourable mentions in the eliminations have to go to Rene Rinnekangas for his mid-air yoga and Fridge for having a wrestling match with the barriers round the landing.
