Audi Nines 2019 kicks off next Monday, followed by six days of epic madness. For the guys out there, who’ve clearly spent their days living in some sort of snow repellent little cave, and don’t know what we’re on about, let us break it down for you. Audi Nines is a snowboard (and ski, if we must) competition with the sickest setup the world has ever laid eyes on. Every single piece of the course is bigger than your rich mate’s parents’ house out in Surrey. So, when the guys over at Audi Nines promise you the biggest and best Audi Nines to date, you know it’s going to be B-I-G.
There’s been a couple of changes for the event this year, i.e. the two different setups. The ladies will be competing over at Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, whilst the boys will stay put over at Sölden. We’re stoked to see how the ladies set up will turn out, especially since the all-female Diamond Girls Crew has got their shovels involved. Over at Sölden, a 10-meter-high and 2.25m wide metal scaffolding “Launch Pad” awaits the boys, making sure they’ll get a proper take-off in order to stomp that 32m gap ahead. Putting this madness into perspective, 32 meters is about three times your average telephone pole, so let’s hope the boys will stay on the line.
