As you may have guessed already from the price tag, the Salomon Sight snowboard is an entry-level model, designed primarily for getting riders from Bambi-on-ice to competence and confidence.
As a result, it boasts fairly simple construction and precious few additives. Let’s be clear, though; they didn’t just get a strip of wood, wrap it in metal and slap a pretty picture on it. While it won’t get the gear nerds salivating, the Salomon Sight has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The core is all Aspen wood, but there are tougher strips of it where they’re needed most (under the inserts, and near the edges). There are also four shock-absorbing rubber pads at the toe and heel areas of your bindings.
The sidecut blends multiple radii to make each turn as smooth as it can be, and the directional twin shape is the perfect platform for beginners. You can get the hang of riding in your normal stance, then move up to switch riding and freestyle when the time comes.
