UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 YES Libre here
Not including kids’ board, this is by the lowest-priced deck in YES’ range – in fact, only two other boards (the Basic and the Emoticon) come close. The YES Libre snowboard is a deliberate attempt to apply some of the brand’s tried-and-tested features to a more affordable model.
With its 100% poplar core, biaxial fibreglass and extruded base, lots of the tech in the YES Libre has been pulled from the bottom shelf. It’s not without merit – biax glass, for example, is way more playful than the triax alternative – although anyone looking for a high-speed, ultralight charger should blow right past this.
“Its twin shape and ‘CamRock’ profile are both great for freestyle”

Instead, it’s the more laid-back funseekers that will get on best with the YES Libre. Its twin shape and ‘CamRock’ profile (that’s camber between the feet, rocker at each end) are both great for freestyle, and it’s flexible enough to butter with ease.
One neat trick is the ‘Directional Volume Twin’ design, which provides 15% more surface area in the nose than in the tail, without compromising the twin shape. It’s not noticeable on piste, but it gives the Libre a helping hand in the powder.
That’s just one reason why the YES Libre snowboard would be a great choice for seasonaires who want one board to do it all, and would rather grab it and go than eat up time with a waxing iron and edge tool.
