UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Salomon Hologram here
We’ll admit to being a little disappointed that the striking ribcage-esque highback of last year’s Salomon Hologram snowboard bindings has been discontinued, but the new-look design betrays no drop in quality. In fact, this already-impressive model has been souped up further still for 2018/19.
We’ll start with that highback; the considerable cut-out section makes it fairly flexible, as well as lightweight, but it’s still supportive enough for when you want to hammer fresh groomers at Mach 10. It’s also really easy to apply exactly the right amount of rotation and, if it’s your thing, forward lean.
“Sitting comfortably in the middle of the Shadowfit range, the Salomon Hologram bindings are an excellent choice for the all-rounder”

The Salomon Hologram bindings are built around the ‘Shadowfit’ system, which has a soft heelcup. Comfort is off the charts, as no matter what size or brand of boot you ride, it’ll instantly have a perfect fit with an even distribution of pressure.
Worried that an errant rider’s edge might slice through it? Don’t be; the material is pretty tough, and has a Kevlar wire running through it too. That also improves the response, so when you’re railing on your heels it’ll handle things.
