Nikita focuses pretty heavily on jackets, to the point where there’s surely not a female snowboarder on the planet who won’t find something they like in the range. Pants options are thinner on the ground, but they’re far from an afterthought; despite being the only model of its kind in the collection, the Nikita Evergreen women’s bib pants come highly recommended.

Like the Nikita Ash jacket, the Nikita Evergreen bib pants feature Thermore Ecodown insulation. A recycled-plastic alternative to feather-plucking, it keeps you warm despite a surprisingly low profile. These use the minimum spec of Ecodown (40g/m2), so on colder spells you may still want to layer up underneath, but for more standard conditions then these will do nicely.

The ‘Classic’ fit puts these in the not-too-big, not-too-small sweetspot, but if you like you can always run the straps a little longer to get a slightly baggier feel. Even if you choose not to do that, the outer material is stretchy enough to allow for unrestricted movement.

Anything less than 10K waterproofing and breathability is not worth entertaining in a pair of breeks, so these are more than sufficient for general resort riding – and the denim-style fabric is subtle enough to wear around the resort without looking like you’ve run away from the circus.

There’s some key reinforcement in the areas that need it most; the hem is extra strong to handle scuffs, and the fully taped seams have double stitching. Naturally the Evergreen bib pants offer your back and bum more protection against the snow than a regular pair can, while sturdy boot gaiters do the same for each leg.
